Creating Components
« on: July 02, 2009, 10:26:48 PM »
Hi,
By any chance would someone beable to email me soccer_oz(AT)hotmail.com or send me a link to a working dummy's reference file for creating custom components.
i need both the 3ds max and gmf file.
reason for this is i think i may have corrupted my current gmf file, i do everything the dummy tutorial for creating components says but when i go to use it in the game i can see it, lets me click on it but as soon as i press the spanner to attach it to a robot it crashes the game.. if anyone knows why this is happening and can help me out it would be greatly appreciated.

cheers

No, 3ds max 9 does not. You need to use 4 or 5.

For once the mods did something right

3ds max 4 or 5 plus unofficial GMF exporter + GMFComp (http://code.google.com/p/gmftoolkit). There's a tutorial on the wiki. Just replace the part about dummee's compiler with mine. https://gametechmods.com/RA2wiki/index.php?title=Creating_Components .

I also suggest reading https://gametechmods.com/RA2wiki/index.php?title=Introduction_to_RA2_modding .
