Accuracy
« on: January 15, 2009, 07:32:20 PM »
Hi all,  i'm looking for any tips and or advice on placing components with spot on accuracy. This being very important when placing drive motors and or duel weps.

At the moment i use the measure component. is this the best way or is it down to eye jujment?.

what do you use?

Thanks,  Slip

the eye mostly. but what helps is to zoom in while in the chassis tab then switch back to the components tab, and without touching the black square, go pick out your component. once you click attach, you can then go in the black square without it zooming out.
You got my vote for RA2 Wizard. Always and forever.

The ruler is useful if your chassis is a weird shape and the grid boxes don't line up with the edges.  But in most cases the grid is accurate enough.  It's easiest to use from a complete top-down perspective.

Ive edited the "measure" tool and made it a little more accurate and clear,

ORIGINAL

EDITED

I don't find this perfect, however it does help to gain accuracy.

Send it to click, it might be good for DSL 3.
Put this onto your signature if you were part of this crappy fad in '03.

Another addition to accuracy. (if using stock)

Ive added a line pointed out by the red arrow. moving the slider gives you the minimum height for a z-tek motor :)

Measure line for chassis  fitting a Z-tek

Just move the slider to that line and you have the perfect height!

This is just beta. More time i could add more precise lines with Text!

Wow, how come is it that people never think of these simple things.
