I'm afraid not, it's too much trouble to retrofit all the components, plus people want both the AI and human control versions.  I haven't ruled out the possibility completely, but I estimate it'll take about 24 or more nonstop hours of work, and I'd jsut rather do other projects right now.  Sorry.

I was about to edit my response since I found the answer in another thread, but you beat me to it. That's a shame.

Still, I love looking at the pics. Do you have like a photobucket account or somewhere where all the pics are hosted, so I can see at a glance instead of going through all these pages in the forum one by one?

I don't mind terribly, just wondering if there's a faster way to do this :P

Great-looking replicas, it's been fun going through this thread, even if I'm barely a quarter of the way through...

Sonny_Resetti has some great talent - is there a pack where I can download his replicas? I've looked around, but I haven't found any. Maybe there isn't...

I'm new here, so maybe this has been covered before. This is my first day on the forum and I just got the bloody game to work a few minutes ago :P

I'll have to try my hand at these replicas sometime...

It's like the Ultimate Robot Guide or something like that, it accompanied Series 4. I have it somewhere..

Robot Wars: The Official Robot Guide.

I'm pretty sure there is a DL somewhere for Sonny's replica pack, but I'm not sure it works properly, some of the skins get carried over to the wrong robots. You'll have to ask him about it, or maybe search for it at the top.

Yeah, that's one of the reasons I took it down, most of the bots with skinned components were made without actually duplicating the components, because I was lazy (this was before I knew how to duplicate without extracting the GMF).  People couldn't figure out how to swap the skins and I was tired of explaining it, so I took it down.

@Ricky, here are the names of the three Robot Wars books.  They're not that useful now that we've got the Robot Wars Wiki and all of the UK series on Youtube, but if you're a collector, here's their names and descriptions.

Robot Wars: The Official Guide - All the Series 4 bots, that's the one used in the scans you posted.

Robot Wars Extreme: The Official Guide - All the bots from Extreme 1 events (excluding newcomers to Extreme)  Some of the lineups are wrong due to robots pulling out/joining at the last minute.

Robot Wars: The Ultimate Guide - A prelude to Series 6, contains a selection of notable robots from Series 1-5.  Tons of factual errors.

Thanks folks - very helpful!

All these ressources are helping me regain my footing in the RW universe again. Memories are beginning to flood back in...

Gonna try to post my own replica now that I'm getting the hang of Robot Arena... might start with an easy one I don't think has been done yet, like Ron from series 2 :P

I'm not sure Ron is that easy actually. Skin/component wise it is, but that chassis shape.. :P

Ideally, you want a robot with a flat top and bottom. Just because of how the mechanics work. You can have wedges on all sides, though, like Spin Doctor. That would be quite simple if not for the chain flails. making chain-like weapons in-game results in a seriously clunky and ugly sequence of Axle Mounts.

Panic Attack is a good first one.  It's both easy and hard at the same time, and can be done pretty decently with just Stock parts.  Plus it's a good primer for skinning.

Humdrum.  Once I remembered that I could use MeltyBrain AI to make an FBS look like a shell spinner, I realized that I could make a few more RW replicas that had previously been inaccessible.  Does anyone know how to make the direction indicator always point the same way while the rest of the robot spins? (a picture example with with the insides showing would be great).

I think if you put it on a Servo or Motor, and have it spin in the opposite direction to the bot, that would give the appearance of staying in the same place. It'd be hard to get it right, though, and probably a bit trickier to AI.

Try a free 360° axle. with a lot of weight on it. It works, mostly. Of course if you make it spin for one minute it will slightly move away from the position, but nope.

Err Resetti Basenji's front was silver, not gold. And I think it'd look better with rubber wheels.

Other than that it's pretty good though.

Texas Tornado.  Took a heckuva lot of chassis shaping to make the skirts fit properly.  I tried using miniwheels, rubber's are the sallest I cna have and still have the wheels touching the ground.
