It's not really the fact that the image is lightened, but because of the bloom / gloss effect you applied creating an excessive pseudo-HDR effect. Id you darken that it's gonna look like crap, unless you mess around with the curves, and even then it won't look good since bloom/HDR is applied locally (usually over a 7x7 grid). If I were you I'd find a version before you applied that effect.

EDIT: case in point, the second image looks like crap.
