Urj, it's not that simple. Under your premise, let me ask you (no harshness intended): Is it not also my own decision if I want to judge? And who are you to judge me for my own decisions about me? It's OK for me to judge, because I choose to. You cannot judge and impose your will upon me. Since you choose not to judge at all, then you cannot judge me for my decision, without rendering yourself a hypocrite.

And if we don't/can't evaluate/judge/assess, then does this mean that 'anything' is OK/right? Obviously not. (See CB's post above). So then, who is to judge/decide for a relationship/group/society what is right and wrong? What if ACAMS did not judge/evaluate/assess any one who came on this forum? What would happen to the forum community? Chaos.
No-win situation....

The point is this:
If we run only on instinct/tendency, then external control(rules,etc) are necessary to impose some kind of social order.
So neither is freedom.

Only consistant, internal logic-based, self-control, (1) helps us rise above tendency level-functioning, and (2) removes the need for external, imposed laws coercing conformity for social order.

If the steering and brakes on your car were broken, then it could not stay on the road or interact with other vehicles in any harmonious way. One could then, put up barriers and gaurd rails to keep the car in check and somewhat on the road. But if the car would own it's brokenness, and deal with self's issues to grow as a vehicle, then it would be able to function rightly on the road among other vehicles.
It's amazing, here in Mass, we have a requirement that all vehicles undergo an evaluation/judgement/assessment of it's conditon, before it goes out onto the road to interact with other vehicles. But we do not do the same with ourselves... Duh! And then wonder why our interactions with others results in scrapes and fender benders; (relationships don't work out).

it all depends on what it is they are doing. perhaps they are smoking. many people die from second-hand smoke, but hey, it's their life, right? if someone wanted to become a suicide bomber, it's their life. they can do what they want with it. as long as it doesn't affect me.

Thats a bit different. Being gay isn't exactly life or death. Its really not that big of a deal. Thats why I want to know why people care about it so much.

Urjak, my personal theory on why people care so much about homosexuality is:

-it is about sex, so a kind of "taboo" topic, but also that everyone (nearly) has interest into.

For this, not necessarily in a conscious way but more of an impulsive judgment (that is, you simply feel it is wrong), most males don't like to see men kissing and hugging, as ACAMS said.

The reason over the basic instincts :
Dogs are ANIMALS = FACT. You CAN teach a dog not to eat until you give a "command" to him = FACT. When dogs obey commands they overcome theyr basic instincts to eat the food right now, and think the commands form the master will help them to survive, so its kinda simple "the reason over the basic instincts" = FACT. Dogs have a lot smaller brain than the humans = FACT. Then, why the hell some PEOPLE CANT lurn to put the reason over the basic instincts, damn it... ? So damn it put the reason over the basic instincts (witch they are to be more tolerant to gays) and start kill'em! :lol:
Im against inveterate thinking and open for the new thinking! Example :

And some of the reasons why i dont like gays :
Since most of the clothes designers are gays this affect the clothes modes too. And when i go to buy some new clothes (like before few days) i "see" the "GAYISM" all over the all cloths. Sorry but, i dont want to wear a very tight/close fitting jeans (as i was saing before, im kinda physical HUGE person), plus the models are now like the FEMALE models - very short top site so your pelvis and undies are shown. I was even see some loser boys to buy A PINK clothes for males, damn it. Not to mention the too tight/close fitting t-shirts. THIS IS FOR THE GIRLS GOD DAMN IT, F*****G gays stop making MALE modes GAY ! Lets burn them with a torch light procession, Donnie go get the shotgun i will get the pitchfork... :lol: Hehehe...

I have to agree with you on that point, pink makes me SICK tight clothes suck hard because they are not confortable and you can't move correctly for them.

Several things in your dog speak:

-A dog would not think "the commands from the master will help it to survive". A dog has no reason... you know dogs are relatives to wolves (both Canis). No, they obey because they used to obey to the pack leader, and now that pack leader is the master. They just obey because it's the master. Instinct. And the master instinct would be here "stronger" than the eating instinct.

And I'm pretty sure they will disobey the master's order and eat when the master's not here it he orders the dogs not to eat.

People can't always put reason over instincts simply because we are animals. We still have the three basic instincts (eating/surviving/mating). Reason is a new thing in evolution, we are perhaps the only living beings to possess it. But these three basic instincts are deeply anchored since millions of years in our brains. You see now?

You forgot the most important part, that is, you can't tell who's who just by looking. Part of homophobia comes from the paranoia that every guy, even your closest friends, has been one of them the whole time.
