Doubt it. The article probably just uses a stock photo of a spider, and it probably wasn't the same species or even family that was involved in the explosion.

Plus there is no reason a salticid should enter into a house like this. Most likely a Tegenaria or these long legged spiders... let me see... Pholcidae.

QFT- though could have been a Cellar Spider, though I forget what the actual scientific name for them is. Ive got a tegenaria living in my bathroom and she'll be living there until she decides to leave. My family is spider tolerant as a whole- in fact, my dad loves to photograph them :P

Probably. Tegenaria are found throughout Europe, most likely an agrestis or duellica. Although I suppose it could of been a Pholcid, they just don't seem to be the type to scurry across a floor.
