Hydro's new computer
« on: February 26, 2011, 02:14:05 PM »
So earlier, Serge talked me in to building my new PC, and this is what we came up with.

HDD http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822136514  (2)

Case http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811129091  (DELIVERED)

CPU http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819103851

Motherboard http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813128443 (INSTALLED)

RAM http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231314  (2)

Graphics card http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814125333  (DELIVERED)

DVD/CD burner http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16827106333   (INSTALLED)

Power supply http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817153106 (INSTALLED)

Extra case fans http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835103052  (INSTALLED)

MORE extra case fans http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835106116 (2) (INSTALLED)

CPU fans & heat sink http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835103057

Final cost: $1,173 plus shipping and handling

Good?

Edit 2: Just looked over the components again and noticed I can trim the cost by around $60 if I take off the CPU fan and add in a better power supply.

Edit 3: My bro has helped me make some changes.

Edit 4: Decided to get extra fans.

Edit 5: I just ordered the case fans and the DVD burner. Should arrive in about a week.

Edit 6: Threw in another fan for the lulz.

Edit 7: Fans and burner have shipped.

Edit 8: Added in a CPU cooler.

Edit 9: Parts arrived!

Edit 10: Adding a "Potential Addons I Do Not Need" section here.

WHY SO MUCH RAM?

Because I want to have an excess of it to make up for the years I've had to deal with 512 MB :D
