Flame wars
« on: September 12, 2009, 08:11:26 PM »
Guys I have became disturbed by the amount of flame wars going on lately. THIS NEEDS TO STOP. I do not want this place to be torn apart by flame wars. So please everyone think twice before blasting somone.
Let me tell you something I learned through life... The weakest link in the chain isn't always the failure point.

Well I wouldn't know about flame wars, but yeah, there have been a lot of arguments lately.  And some of those arguments have come close to and probably even have erupted into flame wars.  Why are you so prone to arguing when stuff like LRA2, crawlers, and BFE come into play of the discussion?  Can't we just ignore them and continue having a normal discussion?

The only flame wars I remember were the ones in BBEANS 5 thread and Story Time. I agree, we must stop the flame wars!

We CAN'T just ignore those things. LRA2 is a spamming idiot and it's beyond me why the hell he hasn't been banned yet, crawlers are cheap and everyone knows it, and bot file editing will ruin stock if people keep using it. So if you want that bullsh** to be going on without anyone saying anything against it, fine, we all should be butt buddies with LRA2, enter crawlers in every tournament, and stack 4 blacks and a CB just because its been done before.

Let me rephrase what I'm trying to say.

If we can't ignore them, can't we just try to deal with them in a more peaceful manner?

Oh wait... no, because you all are so intolerant and love to argue so much it's virtually impossible to keep peace in this community.

... Wow I suck at peacekeeping; we need more people like Joeblo.

Hahaha. Wow. I can't even stop laughing at the concept of having no arguing.

Ounce, if everything was solved in a peaceful manner, then the world's problems would be solved by a game of chess.

So I guess this means that the community is going to retain its instability, and eventually have a flame war that will ultimately lead to its collapse, unless we have more people that can control the chaos?  OK then, but I don't want to be around when it happens.  :ermm:

Til then, maybe look at this a bit more?

Tolerance and peace are not the same thing at all.

As for the community, if we keep 'tolerating' LRA2, the hate will just build up inside us until we just leave because no one does anything about him (or whatever future spammers there are).

This is the reason why he should be banned: he does nothing to help the community, everyone hates his posts, and he is causing flame wars.

Toleration and peace is NOT the answer.

I said maybe; doesn't mean we have to.

All right I give up.  Go ahead and start all the flame wars you want to.  It's not like it's inconvenient for other members.  :nope:

Banning doesn't really solve anything. I mean, Hydro might still be a prick in the butt for some of you, but if you compare old Hydro to new Hydro, all of you will surely prefer the new one. All it takes is some patience and perseverance. I'm also somewhat annoyed by some of LRA2's latest posts, but I still wouldn't want to ban him even if I were a mod.

But since giving him advices isn't helping much. I thought it would be better if he could help himself. I was thinking of a daily post limit to make him exert a bit more effort to post better insights, if that's possible?
