I did enjoy playing Dodgeball back in high school. It was one of the team sports that I was actually alright in, that and basketball. Despite me being relatively small, and not that strong, I was quite a feared player because of my agility and tactics. What I'd do was grab a ball, then hang back and wait until the other team had thrown theirs. Then, when they were defensless, I would run up to the center line and throw when they were off guard. It's great when you're able to make 6-foot rugby players cower behind each other in the corner. Something else I would do, when it was down to the last few players and they'd stockpiled the balls on their side, they'd normally target the bigger guy, and when they'd run up to throw the balls at him, I'd sprint across into their half and steal their balls. There is a lot more to it than mindlessly swinging your balls around.

We play something similar at my school called looneyball.Similar but no intended headshots,Cant throw between two benches where balls are, and balls are softer.Im terrible at catching and throwing but im nimble so i can get the balls then give them to team mates who are awesome.

Anyway, today in P.E we spent most of the lesson playing dodgeball. It was hilarious. :D

DODGEBALL IS AWESOME. I scared the living daylights out of the people in the year above me. XD

LOL YUP. It was soooooo fun. XD

What I used to do was get a ball and hide at the back, while the rest of my team normally tried to dodge the fire from the opposition. When the other team had thrown all their balls at us, I'd rush out from the back, and throw the ball straight at them, and they'd all be like "F**K, WHERE DID HE COME FROM?!" It was funny as hell. XD

What I did yesterday was grab a ball and stand at the back. If someone threw something at me, I would block it with the ball. I slowly moved forward and, when someone near the front of the other team had thrown their ball, I threw it as hard as I could at them. Because they were off-balance after throwing the ball, they always got out. :D

What if they threw it at you really hard first?

Another trick I used to do was when it was down to around two people on either side, but all the balls had been stockpiled by the opposition in the corner. Inevitably, they would get two of them and move right up to the center line, which was as far as you could go to eliminate someone, and more often than not they would throw both of them at the same time towards my team-mate, who was actually very good at dodging [it was normally me and him at the end]. Right when they were on the backswing, I would start sprinting along the edge of the court, and by the time they'd thrown the balls, and my teammate had dodged them, I was already into the opponent's half, and I would gather up all the balls and take them back over to my team's side. =D

My tactics are up there. Dodgeball is awesome.

We got a special rule where one dude is designated as the 'El Presidente' and has to wear this neon orange vest. If that dude gets nailed your whole team is out.
It's pretty funny seeing practically everyone trying to hit this guy. Usually it's a shrimpy kid who can dodge well, for obvious reasons.

We have something like that but with a 'life-saver' aswell.
If someone hits them our whole team is back in.

At my school, we play a variant called billyball. The difference is that there are teams of two. When our class plays with the other class filled with people from other grades, it becomes hectic (There are at least 30 people in the other class. My class has 10.)

Every time I would stay away from the center and do a lot of awesome moves to dodge anything thrown at me.

I tried out for a dodgeball team last year.  (Nearby city has a small league)  I was soooooo exhausted afterwards.  Hated throwing the foam balls that would arc and go anywhere but straight when thrown hard.

Turns out the team was already full, so I didn't make the cut.  Was still fun though.

I love how everybody here is like "I has epic dodging skillzzz lol." Let me be the first one in the entire thread to admit that I can't dodge at all. The trick is that when you get hit, deflect the balls upwards so you can catch them on the way down.
