I did not say that you should never let out your emotions... a man of reason still can feel emotions, he just chooses them and monitors them carefully. Not to feel pain, regret, loss, fear and other negatives, but seek for joy, enlightment, amazement and other positives. You can perfectly laugh at a clever joke, enjoy a good meal/discussion/other thing...

So, stoicism?

Yeah that's what he keeps saying.
I highly doubt anybody can really call themselves full stoics though.

Yeah, even he will find it impossible.

I agree.

"The poems express Kochanowski's boundless grief; and, standing in sharp contrast to his previous works, which had advocated such values as stoicism, can be seen as the poet's own critique of his earlier work. In a wider sense, they show a thinking man of the Renaissance  at a moment of crisis when he is forced, through suffering and the stark confrontation of his ideals with reality, to re-evaluate his former humanistic philosophy of life."

Basically this dude wrote about how fucking awesome stoicism is, then his kid died, he raged, then noticed that everything he said before was bullshit. But then he stopped being an emofag and found his way of life again.

Stoicism seeks to destroy negative/destructive emotions. It doesn't says anything about suppressing your whole emotions entirely. And i think it's awesome. I don't even want to have children, we're enough on Earth already.

And maybe I am a fool for choosing this, and maybe it is not a good idea. But guys, look at your own schools of thought and belief and ask you the same question...

More like Nar's large pride will shine, and because of this he MIGHT help the little guy if he's not a second LRA2.

Didn't the original Greek stoics kept away from sex and procreation ?

By the sounds of it, you're keeping away from more than just sex and procrastination ;P

And limiting some of your emotions is certainly doo-ible
Blocking all of them out, is not.

Bad stuff that happened to me....
I used to go to a GREAT private school, but then due to jobs, I had to move to a state school hundreds of miles away...
Being at this school changed me from a "Normal" average boy of my age to a cocky d***...
My life sucks.

Sad that you let your environment influence you more than your ideas...

And cocky ? You don't look like a cocky guy to me.
