Now do keep in mind, this tip is for WEIGHT saving. Not for component protection. Basically, I found out that if you externally mount all components larger than a TWM3R (NPC's don't count), you are going to save weight, because you do not need to extend your chassis (Which'll cost you more than the 3kg's of a multi-extender) for the component. Again, this is not for component protection, and with some fancy halfsheet and skirt work, you should be able to protect whatever component you want to protect anyway. Technically, this could also count for Stock, but we all know that robots in stock with all their components externally mounted and with no ramplates or snow plows get chewed up and spat out.

Externally mounting most things save weight but it means it is more exposed/fragile to attacks.
Just use as little extenders as you can and then maybe add on some more for extra protection.
Atleast thats how i do it :gawe:
Also i think this is in the wrong section :P

Stay away from junk food.

Sparkey wins. :3

A rare occurrence. =P
Keep in mind, though, if you do this weight saving trick, you're probably going to need some kind of protection for the externally mounted components, so that'll use up some weight as well.

See: Every VS I've made in the last year apart from monSTAR. >.<

This really isn't anything new...

Me and sparkey just though alike after seeing the thread title.

That sounds rather risky for a tiny bit of weight reduction.
