I think SM is a pretty cool guy, eh builds unicycle-bots and doesn't afraid of anything
As S_M said, a rumble would sort of cheat out members who didn't design their bot for rumbles. So what I'd suggest is a Wildcard mini-tournament, with two one-on-one matches, where the winners fight for a spot in the main bracket. That would allow a Wildcard system, and negate the need for a rumble.
Just have a round 1 with only 3 battles...
OK...... this is how it will go:round 1 will be 3 1-on-1 battles (a mini tourney) to decide who gets into the main bracketexamplebot1 --- |--bot1 bot2 --- | |--bot1bot3 --- | |--bot4bot4 ---bot1 goes on to compete against the other 15 previously entered bots
4th option, like S_M said: http://challonge.com/tournament/bracket_generator?ref=QLJIOQTJLLWith randomly generated numbers of course.
