Post by: NFX on June 21, 2012, 11:02:50 AM: Nice to see this moving along. =) At first, I wasn't very pleased I had a preliminary match, but I believe I can easily beat 027, provided my bots keep themselves stable, and don't OOTA themselves in some stupid way.

My favourite has to be S_M's, but the ones that worry me the most are MikeNCR and MassimoV. 12YOP looks like he could be destabilised rather easily, Enigma's supporters looks very fragile as well. SKBT could do well, provided he doesn't meet a wedge or big HS early on. Should be a good competitive tournament, this.

Can't see my weapon sticking to the disc long enough to take out that Sheck Spinner. Fun to watch though, I reckon!

Fortress of Evil: Looks like a tank and about as welly armored as one, but I see it getting destroyed by one of the HS's in hurr.
King Crasp: Weeeeeeeee silver eye-candy. Looks cool but the chayssis looks very exposed.
deBlade: The extender work looks like it's being held together by that 3M scotch tape and bubblegum, it has tons of exposed chayssis space in the back, and will prolly get mauled by one of the HS's in this tournament.
Swarm: Being a multibot it should be able to "swarm" robots easily, but if it's going against a VS it might not do too well. Still looks cool though.
Overlord: Lots of steel extenders and stuff. Drum looks pretty powerful though.
Axe Crazy: The exposed chayssis in front worries me about how far this robot will go.
Super Howler: The two HS spinners look cool, reminds me of 13 Black. But for an SnS it looks too slow. lel gotta gofast
Raging Inferno: Looks like it has a powerful front weapon but if it's 200 kilo's underweight that's worrying..
The Turbulator 2: The big drum-like VS weapons like menacing, but look fragile as well, plus the weak stabilizers make it HS bait.
Carry On: Looks very cool and very well armored, but the weapon system looks a bit.. lacking. Could be wrong though.
The Invertable Turtle: Looks cool but has a big chayssis and with only one weapon system (a pretty weak one at that) I don't know how well it'll do.
Bloodthirsty: It's big, it's ugly, it has a crap drive system, but the weapons look half-way decent. But it's not invertable. 0/10 apply yourself.
Y: Large hammers, good upfront protection, but if it gets flanked I don't know how well it would recover..
T-H-E N-E-X-T L-E-V-E-L: I-T H-A-S G-O-O-D A-R-M-O-R B-U-T I-T-'-S W-E-A-P-O-N S-Y-S-T-E-M I-S L-A-C-K-I-N-G-.
Big Drum: Looks very well made overall, it's drum's a wee bit thin, but I only dislike that aesthetically.
Zorgath:It's weapon looks powerful but how it's angled is odd.
Super Circuit Breaker 2: I actually like this one. It has a nice, minimalist paint job, weapon system is lacking but it still pleases me. 4/10
GIRL U WANT: Looks pretty fast, but it could easily get wrecked by a VS or HS.

I like this lineup of robots overall. 5/10 would post again.

King Crasp : Sorry craaig, I just think it's nothing exceptional looks wise, nor efficient.
deBlade : bleh
TFSOE : At least it's not bad. Looks a bit messy though, could have a cleaner design.
Swarm : Pretty cool
Overlord : I like minion, but the use of awful weapons just ruins it for me.
Axe Crazy : Gonna fail soon. Not especially attractive as well.
Super Howler : It's really cool and quite original. Go this.
Raging Inferno : Probably my favorite looks-wise.
The Turbulator 2 : ...boring
Carry On : As expected of Mike, it's awesomely looking. Also it's a flipper, which reduces it's worth in my eyes but still COOL !
The Invertable Turtle : Boring, plain-looking bot. Also it's probably quite bad.
Bloodthirsty : Crap. The paintjob is OK, but the bot in itself is just plain bad.
Y: It's OK i guess. Good to see side hammers.
The Next Level : May be cool, but gonna fail soon.
Big Drum : ...yeah, it's not especially attractive
Zorgath : Same
Super Circuit Breaker 2 : It's not gonna break anything at all !
GIRL U WANT :... meh. Probably hardly gonna do damage at all. Oh wait, TH (tourney host) doesn't want to win his tournament. Still could have been more attractive.

And seeing the tails getting some action on a couple of occasions. =) Not really sure why there was the havok in the second match, though, maybe it was one of his slimbodies. Badnik next, though, I think I've got a decent chance of winning at least on points. Should be an interesting fight, though, seeing how resilient 027 proved. Good luck, Badnik.

thx, i put a bit more effort into the splash (as in i didnt just make a eye-straining gradient for the background) and reducing lag and stuff and i think its paying off so far

not too much of a curb stomp battle but there are a few good flips and hammerings and Y seems to have some trouble getting at the sloped chassis, otherwise it probably wouldve been over for carry on soon into the match

btw im probably going to dedicate more time to this so vids may be getting up sooner

edit: oh gnfjgsgjrfksgkr i forgot to put a transition from carry on's battle stats to Y's owell

I'm quite disappointed that the least IRL bot won in that instance, I was really hoping to see more of Overlord in the tournament. At least we got to see the Srimech, though, that was cool.

My robot is completely IRL realistic. If someone was good enough at welding, and had enough steel to do it, it's entirely possible to be able to get something as big as a dual perm to be useful without flying off my robot's rig. And what do you think I put in there for batteries ? all the batteries are the big bulky ones that take up quite a bit of space and are rather heavy. And I designed it in mind to be like most real life HS's. And it does have it's disadvantages that hinder it in the game such as exposed wheels and a giant target in the front. (ie the weapon motor) So I believe it's a fair fight, and I just

happened to win.

And getting stuck on their faces for some reason, that's what I put the Lightning Spikes there to prevent. But a win is a win. Now I'll probably have MassimoV's weapon spammed stone wall to contend with. Should be interesting to see which way it goes, though, good luck to everyone left in. =)

I just want to see Massimo's massive scary monster-like beast of a thing in combat though..

I really was going for the puntability with it, to be honest, rather than damage. It was doing a good job of throwing Turbulator around while grinding at it, so I'm pleased. Also, the srimech acted as a roof over the chassis from any knocks. Lovely. :P

I was thinking the drive was a bit weak, if he wasn't managing to spin the weaponry much at all. Hopefully that'll give me more of a chance against him in the next round. Still going to be tough, though, with the sheer amount of weaponry to contend with.

but the bot only has mag drive so it can barely even drive toward the opponent, if it were faster it would definitely be able to shred

if i remember correctly massimov's bot havoked 3 times, so it forfieted one match (making it 2-1). must have forgot to identify the havok in the video, will watch it again and change it if it changed the outcome of who won the rounds
