SIGN UP IS NOW CLOSED. EXPECT SPLASH AND STUFF SOON.
The rules:
1. Replicas only, and you have to send me either a picture or video of the real robot....
2. AI-ing yourself, please - I may be able to AI, but don't get your hopes up...
3. No stacking of components-components can overlap though.
4. The arena would be a reskinned DSL Tourney arena, hazards enabled.
5. DSL Heavyweight.
6. No cheatbot2 parts (Except for burst motors) - AI Parts in the 'normal' workshop ARE allowed - You have to ask my permission if you want to use the AI Parts in the cheatbot2 workshop.
7. For flippers, axes, and any other weapon that uses a burst motor, any burst motor is allowed-INCLUDING CHEATBOT.
8. If your robot havoks, then it is automatically disqualified from the competition.
9. NO CUSTOM COMPONENTS.
10. Clusterbots are NOT allowed.
11. Robots are allowed from North and South America (including Mexico) and from ALL of the UK, including Ireland.

Sounds interesting. Which robot did you build, then?
I entered a replica of the UK Battlebots competitor "Spitfire" for the tournament. It's a repainted version of Dantomkia.
The rep itself is fast, has a good ground clearance, has strong armour, and a powerful weapon. Like my previous flippers, I added some way to do damage onto the arm, so it can win on points if necessary.
I tested it on all the Robot Wars Replicas, and it was able to beat all of them, but that was me controlling it, not the CPU. However, I think it's a good-looking Rep with battle capabilities matching or surpassing it, so I hope to do well.

It came after I asked Zog if I could use TDD's saw blade. I'm not entering that replica any more so it doesn't matter. It's the WTT that I'm really involved in, not this.

That was on the old forum software. I just kept the code even though something to make it happen is not there anymore. To do it, put
[Color=Whatever] before the text and [/color] afterwards.

A .py is a python file. These instruct the bot what to do in RA2. Paste the one Joe gave you in your AI folder.

you will notice in the biding line a gave you it says "THZ" that section will locate the robots instructions from a .py file in the AI folder
you will see others with "Omni" or "FBS" or similar
just put THZ.py in the AI folder in the same area as the Bindings.py file

Ok, new question...
I've extracted all of sonny's bots (as he has made the Byebots as well) to a folder on the desktop. I then copy/pasted the skinned components he is using for his tourney bot. However, whenever I click on any of the three in the bot lab, the game crashes. What am I doing wrong?

DP. I've found some problems:
Conquering Clown uses lt_hex4red.txt which isn't in the folder
Bunny Attack uses white.xt and wood.txt. I have never heard of them, and they aren't in the folder either.
I haven't found anything wrong iwth Napalm yet.

Sonny's just sent me the custom components for Napalm and Bunny Attack, but NOT for conquering clown. Napalm had a custom component for it's axe, btw. Still, could you send me the files for conquering clown?

I don't have the extra custom component for Conquering Clown that he uses. lt_hex4red.txt to be specific. There are no gmfs, previews or maps for it.

I know that too I think. He included .txt files for loads of Lu-Tze's components that he doesn't even use, and the other files aren't included. deleting them may sort the problem. did you install any other components over the top of your components folder before you got the stuff he sent you?

I was going to suggest using a new copy of the components folder, but that would require you to download it again. Try going into you components folder and deleting all the components with lt_ at the beginning of the name, EXCEPT lt_hdrum1, lt_tooth, lt_hex1, lt_hex3red and lt_hex4yg. Don't delete anything from the styles folder. Back up the components folder before doing so.

Hey everyone, sorry for causing the delay. Just to keep you in the know, GK and I couldn't get the Clown to work, so I've submitted a completely different robot. I haven't heard back from Zog as to whether it worked, but I only used one duplicate component this time, so it should be alright.

Anyway, everyone else's bots work, but I am waiting for naryar to send the bindings and the drum.py file for infernal contraption, otherwise I'll just have to AI it. Also, everyone's bot (apart from sonny's and naryar's) has been AI-ed successfully, so expect the splash and stuff soon.

actually sounds like an issue when the game loads the pythons.. or rather ones that contain errors
did you change any arena pythons or AI python files ? even if you dont use them they still crash the game
example: error arena python in a AI folder = crash

Fixed it. Found a clean DSL Folder and copied the AI and Components there. If everyone can send me a screen capture of their robot via PM, then the splash will be made in a jiffy.
