blade arena, elbite arena (during the 1st 30 seconds anyhow), and maybe the twiiiisted arena would all be very nice to avoid flipper spam

Blade Arena: Considering
Elbite: Sides don't seem all that high, unless the pictures are deceiving. Like the Tesla Coil though.
Twiiisted Arena: You mean the BTTB Arena? Maybe, seems alright.

And S_M is right, the whole goal of this tourney is to KO your opponent and knock them out of the tourney. Not flip them out.

Erm, why would people flipper spam?

flipper flips bots out -> no cb destroyed -> repeat -> eventually oota = opponent loses life when oota'd

True, that's why I like the idea of the Blade Arena, the blade in the middle stops people rushing, and it has higher sides.

If we're having an open arena, I'd rather have the Blade Arena, yeah. But without the blade spinning. I don't like it when the outcome of a match is purely dictated by the hazards, one bot could be a hit away from victory, then the blade whacks it over the edge.

I'm all for the blade arena. (So I can enter a big VS and not have to worry about getting boxrushed oota)

Now, I know i've already suggested the Blade Arena, but what about something like this? I know the sides a a tad too high but it still has oota capabilities.

Now that looks quite cool. You could add a nondescript pole in the middle of the arena to prevent boxrushing, perhaps with some kind of statue on the top, like a razor tip or a mace.

I would if I could but I have no idea. This was produced by me identifying what the edge was in the gmf and changing the number. I have no idea how to add to it.

If anyone with more Arena knowledge is willing to help then by all means, though.

As far as I can tell the spikes screw with the ai half of the time.

But the way the start points are layed out, robots pretty much have to turn 45* to face an opposing robot, it would pretty much be the same in the blade arena.

And then people would complain about the gamebreaking blade when a bot gets hit by it and flung out. Plus if hazards are off, then what's the point?

My possible entry. Also if people don't say something soon i'm just going to go screw it and go with the edited ring arena.
I also edited the rules to bring it down to one robot per entrant.
