This tournament would be purely thwackbots. The arena would probably be the half circle (or any arena really where damage is the main focus).
A thwack bot is any robot that only uses a weapon attatched to it's chasis. The weapon itself is not used by any type of motor, only the robots own momentum. Some examples would be Slap Happy and Gabriel.
I dont have much other than that. I was wondering if anybody could help with AI'ing. I know that isnt much to go off of, but that's why I put it in the discussions. I just think it would be interesting to see a tournament of robots using relatively not so great weapons. Judging would be done by me and 2 other people (since the game only accounts for damage done as apposed to things like aggression and control)
I have plenty of time to host it, and can screen cap as well as do some video editing. The bracket would varry depending on participants. Rnging from the head to head style to a regular bracket, or a hybrid of both.
Thwack bots are really easy to build. Its as simple as attaching a blade or hammer like weapon to your robot, then just adding the wheels. It just cant spin or jab.

There are a fair few rules you're omitting from this thread. Be sure to check previous tournament signup threads to see what they have included and also be sure to check this out (https://gametechmods.com/forums/index.php/topic,11455.msg541242.html#msg541242).
Also, 'thwackbots' would be considered SnS if you don't enforce an IRL rule. In which case, your tournament becomes the Clash Cubes spin-off. I think you'd be better off hosting a tournament once you understand RA2 bot types and other conventions we have by lurking for a little while.
Thanks for making this your first post, though. Glad you've got an interest in tournaments ;)

i agree with yugi. It's really good that you're showing interest, but I'd hang around a bit first before you tackle a tournament.
i recommend making a showcase to get better at building and practice AIing before hosting a tournament. But use your best judgement man. glad to have you here :)
