@G.K. Signups were open for nearly a month. I am sorry, but you had your chance to enter

@Urjak and S_M: Possibly, depending on how quickly they send me their bots.

@SD: If you mean that I am going to cheat and test against the bots, I am not.
Note: Thats the version of the Drum Bot in my NAR AI team before I renamed it, painted it, etc. Just so everybody knows, so that they can test against mine, but I still will not test against theirs.

Yes. The rules state what you can and cannot add (feel free to ask any questions pertaining to the rules), then you send me the robot before the week ends and I will do the videos, etc.

They must send the same robot. All robots sent to me at the start are between 675 and 700 kgs. The bot they send me for the next round can be up to 800kgs, but it must be the same bot. There are restrictions on what you can and cannot move. All restrictions are in the rules in the signups thread. The point is to adapt to your opponent. Like for instance, if I was going to face Pyromania, I would make a wide drum on the front of Kraizee to counteract the SnSing. You can also upgrade/add external armor and certain armor, all rules again being in the signups thread.

hmmm... I think I will just carry on with some MOAR WEAPONS  :rage

those wondering about the random flamethrowers sitting out the front ? it will be AI'd with a tweaked FBS.py but every time the robot faces forward rather then just moving forward it fires the flamethrowers and since there on an axle they take very little air and have long range.

You do understand that KillaStorn has 2 VS on a beta burst, with static wedges that do not even touch the ground while going forward, piglets for drive, and is so undervolted the beta burst barely goes its full arc, right?

And it also has no possible way of getting a bot as flat as Pyromania OOTA.

Eh, I actually started a bot for this, but for some dumb reason it wasn't stable in battle, only in the bot lab.  And I bet it would have been awesomely powerful too if it worked...


JoeBlo probably still would have beat it, though.  VS's don't tend to do good against SnS.


My prediction: JoeBlo wins.  (Easiest tourney predictions ever.)

Please try and send one that follows the rule of building off of the bot you have now. I am kinda getting tired of getting all of those robots that are completely different than KillaStorm. Especially Space Catapult, because it always crashes my DSL. XD

You're lucky that I skirted the rules for you and GRW. The rules actually say that if you don't send or tell me which bot to use, you have to use the original one you sent. You owe me one. (I kinda figured out that the rule was a bit unfair).

The rules are definitely in need of some updates (like the no adding motors rule, etc.).

Well that was kind of the point of the tourney. Just look at Kraizee in our match. Thats what you can be able to do with the rules. Problem with SnS is (and why I didn't enter one) is because they really aren't that changeable.

While we wait, does anyone have any ideas for awards?

I had a few before I started, but none are suited to a 4-bot tourney. I am more or less looking for ideas for awards that aren't Best Bot or Coolest Bot or any Bot based awards. More like Best Match (which is an award), or others.

Well there may not be a final Joe.

Yesterday my main computer with all of my RA2 crashed. I don't know what is wrong with it, but my mom is going to try to fix it today when she gets home from work (shes good with computers).

On a good note, nearly all of my bots are backed up, besides a few recent ones, but all of them have been sent to people for tournaments. The problem is, Kraizee (especially the one from our first match that I was going to mod to beat yours) is not backed up. The original bot from NAR AI is though, so if I had to I would rebuild that.

I do not know what is causing the problems. The computer was making a clicking noise when I tried to open Firefox yesterday afternoon, and it wouldn't open. When I clicked firefox again, it completely froze. My mom (shes good with computers) tried to system restore it, it wouldn't restore, and now it doesn't get past the Dell logo when turning on (won't turn on in safe mode either). We haven't been able to get it to restore lately anyways, and we always got an error that says "Restore failed, no changes made" or something like that.

Does anybody know what causes that error? Would it be something like the virus software telling it not to, or would it be something out of our control, or what?

So for now, this tournament is postponed indefinitely.

@G.K. Not yet it just happened yesterday and I was busy all day. No time for phone calls. Last time they took like 3 days and it cost us $129. Good ol Dell tech support.

Anyways, my mom is going to try to make a recovery disc and see if it will work in the computer, but I doubt it because this doesn't sound like a virus to me. Most of our stuff on the computer (pictures, documents, etc.) are backed up, but I know a place where we can get all of that stuff off its it a dead hard drive.

Not sure what to do about this. My only real idea if I had to end this would be to declare Joe the winner. Pyromania is much better than Kraizee, and even I predict it to win, so if I lose everything, JoeBlo wins.

But, there is still a chance it could be saved. So Joe, you still have until Saturday to send me your bot for the next round.

I will try and finish up something tomorrow, if in doubt I am happy to help you out with the final video but we shall wait and see the fate of your computer you have a few weeks to try and sort it all  ;)

Good News! My mom got the computer started via a recovery disc from my dads lsaptop. Still do not know what is wrong with it, but it definitely is not the hard drive (phew). My mom went and bought an external hard drive also, so I will at least have the bots and everything else. There just might be a delay.

I didnt have a computer that I could watch youtube on at the time of posting that but now I do :D

nice job on the video nothing beats smashing robots together to AC/DC  :cool:

great match also.. a few hairy moments for Pyromania.. next tourney hopefully I will have the true purpose of the flamethrowers less havoky

And just to scare you a bit more, if you remember what Kraizee was doing in the third match. It does that about 50 percent of the time in further testing. Wins most of them too. About the best bot I could have built. I guess my extenders were too exposed on the plows. Oh well, Runner-up is still good, and congrats too you.
