Title: The Live Designs Cup
Post by: Badnik96 on March 17, 2017, 12:56:47 AM
ayy lmao more tournaments for me to procrastinate on

RULES:
- DSL 2.2 Lightweight, Middleweight, Heavyweight and Super Heavyweight
- One entry per person per weight class. No limit on bracket size.
- The arena we will be fighting in is the Trauma Pit, which has been modified to have lower walls for more OOTA capability.
- 2 minute matches
- Double elimination bracket
- This tournament will be held to VERY STRICT IRL Realism standards. Make your robot look like a real robot or it will be rejected.
- If your robot havoks or crashes the game three times during a fight, it will forfeit the match due to "technical issues".
- All glitches are allowed as long as your robot is still IRL-realistic. I will be judging this VERY STRICTLY so do not push it.
- RA2 Component Freedom and OBJRA2 are allowed and encouraged to make your robots look as good as possible.
- BFE for realism and aesthetic purposes are allowed and encouraged as long as the robot stays realistic.
- Robots must look as close to real-life designs as possible.
- No Flamethrowers or Crawlers
- You can only use one of the following on your robot: Frenzy Hammer, Mechavore Disc, Microvore Disc, Minion Disc, Moros Blade
- Multibots are allowed. Multibots consisting of one wheeled robot and one walker/shuffler are not allowed. Multibots consisting of two walkers are allowed, but their combined weights must pass the restrictions.
- LW Walkers/shufflers can weigh up to 375 kgs, but at least 125 kgs must be used on the walker or shuffler system itself.
- MW Walkers/shufflers can weigh up to 600 kgs, but at least 200 kgs must be used on the walker or shuffler system itself.
- HW Walkers/shufflers can weigh up to 1200 kgs, but at least 400 kgs must be used on the walker or shuffler system itself.
- SHW Walkers/shufflers can weigh up to 1800 kgs, but at least 600 kgs must be used on the walker or shuffler system itself.
- Swiss Army Bots are limited to three different weapon systems.
- DSC's IRL packs are allowed and encouraged for this tournament.
- Other skinned parts are also allowed and encouraged, as long as they are included in your PM. Make your robot look unique and interesting!
- If your robot looks really bad (like for example a garish box with a weapon slapped on it) then your robot will be rejected.
- I reserve the right to re-skin any robot I think has a bad or low-effort skin.
- I reserve the right to reject blatant re-entries or boring clones of existing robots. For reference, every mechavore spinner is a "boring clone of an existing robot" and can be rejected.
- The following Cheatbot2 Components are allowed:

JUDGING
- Fights will be judged on significant attacks and control of match.
- Judging will be done by myself. If anyone has an issue with this then we can discuss it in the thread.

I will be entering, here's my bots:

The best entries from this tournament will show up in LDAI in some shape or form. The winners of each weight class get to beta test the first release of LDAI 2.2.

(yes this is basically TCC again dont sue me)

Should just call it TCC 2 but it really up to you if you want to call it that. Also, I'll be thinking about this one when I do have the chance to make a decent bot and see what I can make.
- HW Walkers/shufflers can weigh up to 1200 kgs, but at least 400 kgs must be used on the walker or shuffler system itself.
- HW Walkers/shufflers can weigh up to 1800 kgs, but at least 600 kgs must be used on the walker or shuffler system itself.
Yes, I wanted to point out the rule below the first rule is a typo. It should be SHW, not another repeat of HW mentioned in the first HW shuffler rule.

"Judging will be done by myself."
"I will be entering, here's my bots:"

DISCREPANCY DETECTED

Yeah I don't think it's fair to judge your own robot's fights. Could you appoint a secondary judge to judge your matches?

I'd be up if you need a judge but I'd ad 2 judges

yeah actually, or add 3, so you can have a 3 judge board and an backupjudge if one doesn't answer or you can't judge your own match.

I'm excited to try out building with some CB2 parts. So far I've only really utilized the flatmotor.

shelving this for now due to everyone else having the same idea. the first LDAI cup will be a display tournament featuring bots from the LDAI for 2.2 pack.
