Cool!  Let's see if Metal Crusher can pull a Butterfly Sting here.

Here's some thoughts:


Dr Payne DDS: I want to see this one in action, looks interesting.

Force of The Storm: Isn't this the one I crushed in a challenge match?  It might have some luck against the wedgeless bots, I guess?

Fhqwhgads: Wedgy-drummy thing.  Cool.  Looks like it'll be hard for Metal Crusher to hit.

KillerWhale 3: Is it a flipper?  Looks kinda IRL.

Metal Crusher: The splash doesn't properly convey how pink this bot is, I feel.

Stains of Time: Another one I want to see in action.  Also looks hard for Metal Crusher to hit.

tba: I tried making a 6-wheeler a while back, but it turned into only a 4-wheeler.  Looks like it'd be a good target for Metal Crusher, but we're on opposite ends of the bracket.

Backyard Shredder: ...looking at the bracket, it might actually win a match.

Force of The Storm:looking top. Ram plates on top. That one I seened on Deadgenocide vs Thackerzod?

Flugabwehrkanonenpanzer Gepard:durm type Robot. Good idea.

KillerWhale 3:No idea

Metal Crusher:Go Thackerzod you can win!

Stains of Time:Go RedAce you can win!

tba:Hammer with flamethrower. No idea

Backyard Shredder:I like it.

Thoughts:
Dr Payne: Not sure how stable it'll be or how well its weapons will work together.

Force of the Storm: Had pretty poor wedges when I tried it in a challenge, not expecting much

KillerWhale 3: not sure how effective those wedges are. Flippers are quite low, which hurts its OOTA potential

Metal Crusher: Very strong, has very, very good wedges. High expectations.

Stains of Time: Rides and dies on its wedges

tba: With the amount of gutrippers its not looking too great.

Overall predictions:
8-5: Force of the Storm, KillerWhale, Dr Payne, Backyard Shredder

4-3: Stains of Time, tba

2: My bot (lel)

1st: Metal Crusher

Yay fore of the storm is against Backyard Shredder who has god awful wedges but idk.

DR Payne DDS: looks wierd

Force OF The Storm: Joke bot that I meant to replace but I'm against BS.

Stains OF Time: it looks a like a giants snapper 2 with the color but it's a spinnner.

Huh, seems like a low turnout, considering that the Stock tournament got 16 people...

I know next to nothing about good designs, so, uhh... Good luck to everyone who entered! And the byebot, best of luck (R.I.P.) to it.

Tournaments in general seem to be getting lower turnout. Probably has something to do with a lack of intrest/IRL stuff going. Everyone bailing on their tournaments probably didn't help matters either.

Yeah, I'm still waiting on Back To The Roots... I've become more interested in GMod Robot battling though; I'll probably be entering the 'Robo'Games tournament when that starts.

agree with what joelu said. i think the last ra2 tournament i was really invested in was ironbot. it's a lot more fun to actually drive what you build, and the discord banter is top.

i also agree with thrackerzod in that madman has this. though d-lark's bot intrigues me. seems a little small for a HW, might be hiding a surprise.

I'm pretty sure if I was driving my bots rather than the AI, I'd get super salty every time I lost.  Guess I should try it out sometime, though.

I'll check out garry's wars one of these days. I watch the streams every so often when they're on and it looks pretty cool.

Also, I got all of R1 recorded. Should go up sometime before the weekend if all goes well.

I'm guessing that the drum's going to be bouncier than your bot.  Could really go either way though.

Round 2 of the winners bracket and round 1 of the losers bracket are up now.

I've been thinking, since there's technically only 7 entrants, I'm probably just going to release the AI at the end of the tournament. Don't though, I'll find something to give to the 1st place winner and runner-up (or third place if I somehow manage to make the finals) in it's place.
