Yep, thats right I have all that is needed to get this thread open now.

Winners Bracket

Losers Bracket

Wildcard Bracket

Arena will be reskinned DSL arena (by JoeBlo) with hazards off.

Now, all matches including Wildcard will be best of 3 and all 3 rounds will be recorded even if one bot wins twice in a row.

Everyone will PM me their robot choice for their match and that bot shall be used for all 3 rounds of the match.
You are not allowed to change your pick once the PM has been recived.
You can announce your choice here too if you want, but you lose your edge as your opponent might have not yet chosen and picks the perfect counter.

You have 2 weeks beetween rounds to make your selection!

Wildcraders will choose one of their bots and that bot will be used trough the entire Wildcard bracet. So chooce carefully.

I think thats all for now, if I missed something just say it here and I fix it.

wow everyone went to town on changes, I made only small changes between mine as I thought it was realistic  :frown:

I agree, some of the bots look like people had to change everything around to change there bot. I didn't change my drive because I didn't think that meet the rules.

OK, time for predictions!
090901: Side hammer and VS are good, unsure about flipper though.
Craaig:I like them all except the rammer, which needs moar weapons and no Astro's
GK: F*** YEAH CHICKEN DRILL and the rest are good. Should have used sledges on the SnS though.
JD:Not bad, HS and VS's weapon motors are too exposed for my liking.
JoeBlo:I expect these will do well, FBH FTW
Jonzu:Not bad, FS needs a wedge.
Naryar: I can beat all of these with my new LW HS, still not bad as the VS gave me trouble
Nicsan2009: :fail:
Pwn: Great bots, should make semi's.
R1885:Play Mario and Luigi much? Anyway, I think E-TEK drive is kinda overkill on the SnS. The most creative bots in the tourney.
RR: Good, should win one match
SD: lol on the HS, very cool bots. Should win some fights

090901: VS looks good, others less so
Craaig: Rammer kind of random, others look solid
Me: HS is deadly, others fail
JD: Bots look interesting, I d'nt like the look of the sawbot
JB: Love the idea and the KIT KATS but I'm unsure of the effectiveness.

090901 - not bad, the flipper seems the best out of the 3
Craaig - the HS and VS looks quite effective.... use the rammer, use the rammer, use the rammer... nice bots :P
GK - not bad. some are better then others though,the FS seems a little pointless but the rest look good
JD - :D all look awesome,  nuff said
JoeBlo - mm Chocolate...I really wish I could have used the normal hammer verson I had but SSG said Flail Hammer was the same bot type  :frown:
Jonzu - the VS and FS look quite potent the pop up looks like that BSG will have a short lifespan
Nary - Vlad forks arnt used enough :D the HS looks rather deadly
Nicsan - I will give the poker half a chance but if its goign to be randomized... eep
Pwn - boy that is a lot of potential CCIV prototypes :P *cough* if CCIV is LW that is. easily going to go far
R1885 - Ribbs normally try's different things but this takes the cake :P wil be interesting to see them in action
RR - the first 3 are awesome.. the others.. im a little iffy  on
Scrap - :D some of my favorite designs here.. I will be keeping my eyes on them 0.0
Somebody - despite the FS looking like a carrot patch :P some nice robots
S_M - thumbs up for making a replica but exposed chassis wont get you far sorry
Stag - Decisions will mean do or die for this robot a lot of difference between how effective each will be
S32 - that is a rather odd VS for sure, other 2 look good though
Ounce - the only thing that will stop the Pwnator Express Train :P my pick to win this
Thyrus - hehe cleaver name, some interesting robots too

Predictions time !

090901: The side hammer looks decent enough, the VS's weapon is kinda too tall and the flipper... well, is a flipper.

Craaig: The sawbot does look good, the rammer fails, the HS not sure how it is going to fair and the FS's weapon isn't going to fair really well if angled upwards with no real wedge.

GK: The wedged HS has a lot of potential. The rammer and poker though exposed aren't bad, the popup looks decent enough but the lower wedge isn't sticking out enough, and the SnS is the only one which fails.

JD: Bleh... The rammer does look decent enough (still not invertible = fail) but the other one's weapons are either too weak or way too fragile. They all have a wedge though, and it could help.

Joe: Yet again, another bunch of both cool and original designs that are going to get trashed by the more serious fighters.

Jonzu: The FS isn't bad but i am guessing the discs touch the ground, that will slow down weapon speed. The HS is average, the popup as well but the BSG is too backwards for the wedges to be good (weight counterbalancing issue) and the VS will fair well as long as the motor is not hit.

Myself: STUPID CONTROL BOARD RUINING THE PAINTJOB :FFFUUU The HS is rather good, as is the VS. The SnS fails and the pusher is decent enough, but nothing more...

Nicsan: :fail:

Pwn: Solid building as always, and the only consistent hammer of the competition - that is a good addition to any team. Unsure about the popup's efficiency though.

Ribbs: What's this ? Does Ribbs just went the opposite building style of what he did usually ?  Both of the spinners do fail in weapon department, (credit for being original on it though) and the SnS... well the SnS is rather nice apart from the ungrippy wheel. Still, i excepted better from R1885.

Russian: Drum and FS do look good though the first one doesn't have a lot of reach. Unsure about the horizontal spinner, the popup might be a bit too fast and i am skeptical on the rammer's weapon setup. Still not a bad team.

Scrap: VS is solid (though beware the 400 HPs), the rammer's weapon setup isn't the best, the "wide-ass" made me laugh and the original Ballista is a good bot.

Somebody: All three rather good designs and probably a threat to my bots. The Perm is somehow exposed though, and i am wondering are these wedges enough for stabilizing the FS ??

S_M: RA2 is not real life robot building. Hell, the rammer's not even invertible... and it's not a multibot, right ?

Stagfish: :fail:

System32: A decent SnS, a blatant clone that will fair well unless against a popup and a VS that weapon barely does any damage compared to normal setups - i tried it before with a perm 80 and a 60kg hammer, hoping it saved weight, but it failed.

The Ounce: The HS does look like one of the gayest deadliest bots in all the tournament. The first rammer isn't as efficient as a normal V-setup, the sheel and SnS are good, the VS/rammer hybrid is kinda weird and the trapper (aka SECOND rammer, i thought SSG allowed no 2 similar bot types ?) is yet another clone that will probably fair well.

I just hope there aren't any ballasts and piglets for drive in this tournament...

Don't ever lose your amazingly frank french honesty.  It makes us all better builders.  I agree with your assessment of my bots. Hell, the more I test them the more I wish I had taken invertability seriously when I built them.  Live and learn eh? 

The funny thing about some of these tourneys that take a while to get up and running... we all learn so much over the 2-3 months that passes.  Some of us look at our bots and facepalm because we know better, now.  haha!

I`m scared. ABout 5 minutes after I sent my choice, I found Nary`s team in the NAR AI.
It did not fare very well, though none of them did.

I don't like my chances against S32.  While my bots have a wedge, which will give me an advantage on that front... his bots weaponry is far greater than mine.

Personally, I think we are on equal levels sometimes when it comes to DSL (although I'm still having trouble beating that goddamn Paper Cut 4), but yeah, I should put better wheels on the shell spinner (I'm thinking large ant wheels).

It is still a bit unstable, which is why I think Pwn is bluffing, because some of his bots look like they can take advantage of my SnS's instability frequently.

I don't know what to choose; I'm up against some tough competition in the early rounds already.

V.M. Worker's quite stable in my game. And the only bot that can stand a chance against V.M. Worker is the hammer. And even the hammer can't get a solid hit on the chassis. It always gets one of the skirts ripped off before it could deal the final blow. >.<

I do believe VMW's unstable because it's whole body can be fitted in a long rectangle, but with rather small width.

I apologize for the delay.  I found my Battlefield 1942 disc today (it has been lost for about 3 years).  Needless to say, I installed it and wasted the rest of my Sunday playing that. I totally didn't realize how much time went bye.

Its okay. You got them done faster than I expected.

Just to let you guys kow the exact time when im going to do the randomizing by default is Saturday morning, about 11-12am GMT+2 possibly later because I tend to sleep in at weekends.

Additional info about the wildcards:
Everyone faces everyone once, so only 3 best of 3 matches needed, this means that everyone has a possibility of getting 2 points, but only one will.

Gonna go filming now.

Well, I sacrificed HQ for file size, now tey are no longer way past 260Mb, now the biggest file is 58Mb.

Imo SM, you have no chances with any of your bots, but I quess Flipper might knock that SnS unstable, but your VERY exposed chassis will kill you if you cant OOTA him fast.

I have just sent the list to JD for splash making. I may not be able to reach 2 matches a day depending alot of stuff IRL, so dont be mad at me for that. Also I decided that the music list was too short so I decided to include music by Frank Klepacki from other games too, Universe At War and HDNET Fights. I have a whole 1.3Gb of his music but only those 2 has suitable music for this purpose, also I got 3 songs from Red Alert 3 that werent in the official Red Alert 3 Soundtrack o_O

I just caused myself an amazing rage as I filmed 2 rounds with too high resolution, filesizes boomed and all texts were unreadable. So im redoing the matches that I just did. GK vs 090901 and Jonzu vs Stag. There were some pretty amazing comebacks and situations there, its a shame I failed :/

I was also wondering about that too, why make 6 bots when you dont use them?. When I make TAR 2 im going to have a rule that you must use different bot than what you used last round and cant use the same bot again until you have used all of your bots atleast once.

SSG, it was because I'd originally made 6 bots for this that were on level terms with each other, the day after I got RA2. When I rebuilt them on deadline day, Uno was much bettern than the rest.

Bracket update is here and i only need Scrap Daddys entry and I can get to doing vids, because I wanna make losers bracket vids first now, to save winners bracket as the last match of this round.

It would be Final but the bracket pictures are missing this:

The loser of this winners bracket will go against someone in Losers Bracket for another chance of getting to the final battle of losers champion vs the winners champion.

Now about your special match Thyrus and SM, it was same bot type vs same bot type? If not could you specify wich ones and I will do best of 1 matches and make it one video. Also JD you dont need to worry about making spashes for these matches.

Super-mega-hyper-necro-bump I know. However its an important update.

Atleast 75% of the videos of this tournament have gotten a copyright notice, wich is harmless unless the authors of the music used decide to take action. That can lead to getting my YouTube account banned and I dont want that.

Additionally the original videos do not exist due to harddrive failures, so the only versions of these videos are the ones on youtube.
So if anyone desires to archive the vids somewhere safer, now is the time to do so, because I will take them down as I personally dont care for them anymore.

Use YouTube Downloader or something to get them.

Also if you want to let me know that you have downloaded them to safety, you can contact me easiest trough Steam. Im in the GTM steam group or additionally you could add me as a freind (http://steamcommunity.com/id/1nsane89/).
