Title: Teammates - Brackets, Splash and Vids !
Post by: Naryar on July 21, 2020, 04:14:34 PM: Teammates is now ready to begin !

Classic elimination tournament bracket with BO3 fights, and round robin for the finals. Loser's bracket works like winner's bracket.
-Each robot in a team gets one free havok restart per fight. Beyond that, havoks will mean your team loses this match. All havoks that do NOT obviously change the outcome of a match will be kept. I reserve the right to disqualify a robot that causes too much havok explosions - this will also disqualify the teammate, so be careful of how much your robot breaks physics ! If a match-changing havok cannot be attributed to a certain bot, then I will just restart the match.
-Controlled movement rule : A bot that consistently shows a lack of controlled movement by itself and lack of tracking the opponent under normal circumstances will be also disqualified. Of course, this does not prevent VS's or HS's from bouncing around the arena when hit or flipped or such, or a bot from not competing after losing a wheel. It simply is a rule against abusing mauler dances.

If a byebot team wins the loser's bracket round robin, they cannot go forward any more to attempt to win the tournament, and the team that had second place in that round robin will instead go in their place.

Considering the testing I have done... they seem to be doing pretty well against their first fight.

No, I'm fully serious. T I T A N is now my favorite bot.

Now I have to edit them into something watchable. I believe I will be able to get them done in three days.

Also : we will have a statistics spreadsheet for every bot and team, that will update after every round.

Someone suggested to use the tank tread brothers. Clearly it was the memiest team, so I went with it. Also, the crowd needs a plucky underdog to root for.

They are actually doing not so bad right now...

However after some some testing in the botlab it sometimes manages to selfright so I'm going to add a srimech command.

Here are my votes.

Best Team Synergy : Elite Boomers Surprisingly, despite all the teamkills, those were the two who worked best together.
Best Team Theme : TSOotMS
Most Fearsome Robot : Hruodgaus : I wanted to vote for Enfilad3. Then I saw Hruodgaus's amount of OOTA's.
Most Entertaining Robot : T I T A N It managed to beat a few proper DSL-S bots.
Coolest Robot : Amamanaguchi. Would almost vote for Arabian Death Route, but ADR is a lil bit more generic.
Most Innovative Design : Unstopable can of beans. It's pretty much the only bot that is somewhat original design-wise.
Razor Guy Award : TSOotMS. The flipper might be pretty damn good but it was quite unstable in training, and the VS... well, you saw how it performed. I was thinking it was an okay team, mostly held back by having one bot doing all the job. Greslemuef was constantly OOTA'd, either by an enemy bot, or it's teammate. And then they ended up going into finals and almost winning.
BTRSHDBBDDTBL (Bot that really should have done better but didn't due to bad luck) : Clark Lockjaw : A pretty decent bot overall, but his teammate was... eh. Didn't have much killing power, and the lack of invertibility didn't help. Also falling on the best byebot team
Favorite Moment : When Arabian Death Route used them flippers to get rid of it's opponents.
