The closing date for voting is the 5th of June. So be quick!

Post-Mortem:

Now, I will be the first to admit that there were some problems straight off the bat. First off, me limiting myself to 4 matches/week at most is a terrible, terrible idea. And having to get them all out on one day w/ splash so I could keep it to a Saturday update to allow it to be simple didn't help either. Please note I have to go to work at midday on Saturdays so I had to make the splash, record, upload and update the thread all in the morning while I was doing other stuff. I usually wake up at 10 so sometimes it was a bit of a rush.  I couldn't even create a backlog of videos I could post as X might update their robot.

I felt interest from people dwindled as the tourney went on, possibly people felt "Ugh, is this still on?". For example, when I said "notify me asap so I could continue quicker", only 1 person did that consistently, (Thanks, MikeNCR). As this tourney was slightly more involved than others, some people seemed to forget that. It almost seems like I might as well have not bothered with the updating lark. The fact that 11/16 bots didn't update their robot once and that 3/4 bots in the final were untouched I feel that sort of backs my point up.

On the bright side, I am somewhat happy with the shuffling teams aspect and how the splashes turned out. Rather than me having to make one complicated bracket.

Have some fun facts!
-The people with the most changes were Somebody, S_M, Ty4er, all with 3 changes.
-3/4 people in the final didn't change their robot throughout the tournament, clearly going by the old addadge "If it ain't broke don't fix it."
-11/16 people didn't change their robot throughout the whole tournament.
-2 people changed twice (090901 and Hard bot).
-There was never a match full of updated bots.
-I wish I knew about the f10 key in round 1.

If you guys could take the time to fill out my small questionnaire, it would be much appreciated. Just to see if i'm being to hard on the tourney, if we all think the same thing, or if i'm just flatout wrong.

What did you think about being able to change your robots inbetween rounds? (Do you think it was a gamebreaker/a waste of time etc):
What did you think about the 1 week gap to change your bot between rounds? (Too long/pointless etc):
What did you think about teams shuffling between rounds? (Do you think it confused things/didn't work etc):
Would you enter a Tag Team Tussle tournament is there was another?:
Anything else?:

I would like to thank anyone who entered the tourney. I'll draw more conclusions after I've got some responses to the questionnaire, but, for now. I hosted a tourney and it didn't fail utterly! And i'm happy with that.

The WHY WASN'T I PAIRED WITH THEM? award seems to be redundant as it pretty much falls into the Luckiest person, Best robot and Coolest robot award. :P

Will rewatch the matches to prepare my votes. :P

Unluckiest person: SKBT
Luckiest person: Enigma
Best Match: Round 2 Battle 1
Best Team: Somebody & Ty4er
Best robot: Minifridge 6

WHY WASN'T I PAIRED WITH THEM: Scrap Daddy (In LB Final)
Unluckiest person: Me (getting stuck with Enigma in the last round)
Luckiest person: GF93
Best Match: Me and MikeNCR vs. Paranoia and Hard Bot
Best Team: Macho Man Randy Savage & Nyx2
Best robot: Macho Man Randy Savage
Coolest robot: Impaler
SFTW: Jaws of Defeat

What did you think about being able to change your robots inbetween rounds? (Do you think it was a gamebreaker/a waste of time etc): Good idea that added originality
What did you think about the 1 week gap to change your bot between rounds? (Too long/pointless etc): About the right length
What did you think about teams shuffling between rounds? (Do you think it confused things/didn't work etc): Kinda confusing. Maybe worth trying one without switching. Would basically be like a tag team Winds of Change, which would be cool.
Would you enter a Tag Team Tussle tournament is there was another?: Yes
Anything else?: Maybe add pictures of the robots with the names (splash you post here of one team, a vs. screen or something, then the other team splash), before the match.

You completely ignored both my PMs and my accurate replica of MACHO MAN RANDY SAVAGE that I built for both of us to test with. (no need to build a Morbid Angel clone because its just DEATH OF ANGELS 2).

If it makes you feel better I did look at your PM's, I just had a lotta crap going on that week.
That's probably a really lame excuse but it's teh truth

I think I somewhat addressed that in the op. People who took the opportunity to interact with their temporary partner and update their robot would be in trouble when paired with people who got hampered with real life or just didnt bother.
11/16 people didn't update so usually this was the case.

I think i'm the unluckist person here. Minor Disturbance is a good bot, but here's it's weakness: use of Plastic 1.  It's weak against Pop-Ups and Rammers.

@Gard bot Iirc didn't your robot never get up to high enough speeds to do damage? Coupled with the fact it only have two batteries so it was constantly underpowered? If you sacrificed a few weapons for an extra battery you might have done better.
Minifridge had 10 razors. You had 10 razors + irons. G.k could afford to have full power and better armour, plus being able to spin up faster due to less weapon weight. I'm usually all for more weapons, but not when other aspects of the robot had to suffer so badly.

My two cents.

Oh and SKBT just say paranoia's bot. It's easier. :P

WHY WASN'T I PAIRED WITH THEM: GK and Minifridge 6
Luckiest person: Badnik (it was quite an obvious choice)
Best Match: Loser's Bracket Semi-Final 1
Best Team: GF93 and S_M (I agree)
Best robot: Impaler
Coolest robot: Morbid Angel (Might seem a bit self-serving, but you've got to admit that flipping Enigma OOTA was quite awesome)
SFTW: Minor Disturbance 4
Would you enter a Tag Team Tussle tournament is there was another?: Yes, provided there wasn't any more match-rigging in the finals.
Anything else?: We were robbed  O:<

In which case, updated. But in all honesty, I think both of you were incredibly lucky because you got that second rematch. No doubt because they couldn't stomach the thought of me winning something again, so they pretty much filmed again and again until you won, before uploading that one. So yes, you pretty much won by luck.

You seem to think Conraa added the second match after seeing you won the first match. He was planning to follow standard double-elimination rules the whole time. I don't see why you cannot see that.

I always thought Double Elimination only applied until the final two- then it became one loss either way. That, and I'd won the first fight, only to have one where I lost filmed immediately afterwards, with you two declared the winners. That's why I feel so cheated over it.

Simply, you didn't understand the way a double bracket worked. It has always worked like this and because you didn't know this, you decided it was unfair?

Of course- you're the one they like. You're the popular one. The one who can do no wrong, and must always win, no matter what happens. Of course they wouldn't want the other complete retard to win a tournament, so even if I clearly won, they change it and insist that it was you who actually won it.

I wonder why I even bother if people have this much of a problem with me winning anything.

No, you just have a problem with YOU losing. Look, can you just ask someone respected like Clickbeetle or someone to confirm THIS is how a double bracket is done?

Right. I just feel like I've been stabbed in the back over it. I thought I'd won, I honestly had, and then this happens. Now S_M's stolen another tournament result from me, and I get zilch for all my hard work. He often seems to get in my way in tournaments I come close to winning, as of late.

And I did win one tournament, as you can tell by the sig, but it's generally considered to be nothing to anyone.

So yeah, maybe I did let my temper get the better of me in this case. That, and if Kill sees what's happened, I'll probably have another ban on my hands. As such, I'd like to apologise for what's happened, and for being so, might we say, standoffish about the issue.

TP:
The results of the awards:

WHY WASN'T I PAIRED WITH THEM: Scrap Daddy
Unluckiest Person: SKBT
Luckiest Person: Enigma
Best Team: Scrap Daddy & Somebody
Best Robot: Minifridge 6
Coolest Robot: Impaler/Jaws of Defeat/Nyx2
SFTW: Minor Disturbance 4

Best Match: No clear winner. Let's just say they were all awesome matches :P

I omitted all votes which were people voting from themselves. I'm sorry but when you could win an award easily by voting for yourself I think something's gone wrong.

I think i've got a bit of food for thought on this tourney idea now. But i'll put it on the back burner for a bit. I've got another idea I want to try.

This concludes Tag Team Tussle. Thank you, and goodnight.
