Holy Sh!t their is some good bots. Top teams IMO in no specific order: Craig and Badnik, Me and somebody, JB and Nary, 123 and JD, Pwn and Ounce. Some of the other I didn't mention surprised me with some cool bots. Thoughts on opponents: really can't see either Stagfish's bot nor lloopp taking killing season out and that exposed chassis on LLoopp ain't gonna last long. It looks like I'm gonna be adding two heads to my trophy wall first round, Hunting is now in session :gunz: .

What do I keep doing wrong with the wedge? I try and make it good, and then you say that it's rubbish! How do I make a good wedge?

you can get wedgie skirt hinges but 8/10 times a door hinge wedge will coast right underneath it.

PREDICTION TIME

Team 1 - A decent poker and a TS that i don't know how it will fair (because i did not tested it :P)

Team 2 - The FS is quite fail in weapon setup, as the popup's wedge and armor.

Team 3 - Not a really good shell spinner. Stag really wasted a load of weight on DSL bars, and the other bot... well, i guess keeping posting random things in the chatterbox has an incidence on bot building skill.

Team 4 - The VS looks good enough, but Badnik's weapon system *cough*

Team 5 - aka "Team Faggot"

Team 6 - Solid bots, but Joe's lack of a wedge worries me. And i didn't even tested my bot. :P

Team 7 - Enigma's only chance of not being a bother is rushing at a slow bot and flipping it OOTA with the speed, but the other popup looks decent enough...

Team 8 - Lemon Saw looked nice before i saw it hadn't a metal hinge... and PR's poker is really too slow, underweaponed and extender work is SO heavy.

Team 9 - Well, 123's bot is rather good, but Jack's isn't as

Team 10 - The SFTW of the tournament and a decent enough VS. Won't get far.

Team 11 - A n00b and a builder that... well, is becoming decent. That popup's not horrible, but popups need WEDGES !

Team 12 - SSC is not invertible, and Whiplash's wedge isn't the best. Not a bad team still.

Team 13 - :fail:

Team 14 - Probable champion, though i hope both I and Joey can... *Fireflies song playing* :FFFUUU

Team 15 - Flipper and SnS isn't the best pairing ever

Team 16 - LOL at names... anyways, 027's bot is really "meh" but LincK's popup looks good. Very good.

hey Nary take a look at my showcase.. might give some confidence to you.. also the lack of wedges dont matter that much if there is exposed top armor... T-Road flys over the top and takes the armor out on the way beat a pop up in NarAI like this (cant remeber the name though)

I wouldn't judge my machine's wedge so quickly, Nary. It uses the same wedge setup as Cassius II did (IE. A door hinge), and that was able to get under almost anything.

I know a good bunch about wedges in DSL, and this is a single short wedge... and all what you're doing is comparing your bot to a real life bot - real life wedges =/= RA2 wedges.

but there is next to no use of good wedges in replica tournaments so its not really a good comparison still

it did not fail, it was due to the bounce of the skirt hinges with the momentum of a whole arena's distance, if Naryar didn't break off the skirts It wouldn't have done that.

When I sent Super Spin Cycle I was under the assumption that Badnik would AI it so it would lead with the disks when it spun and that he wouldn't give it Melty Brain AI. I think that a unidirectional weaponed SNS spinning the wrong way is as bad as a popup driving in reverse the whole match.

^^^^ I strongly disagree with that post I've been waiting forever for my dam match and now this. My opinion: First off if SKBT's bot was supposed perform a certain way then it's his job to let the person AIing his bot know how to AI it so it works like it's supposed to. It's not Badnik's fault it's SKBT fault plain and simple. 2 You guys say his bot was spinning the wrong way? Does that effect the spinning speed? If I think that SKBT should have a rematch then it should happen, I'm the frickin' TOURNEY HOST. If you can't wait then just say "I can't wait for my match!" @S_M How do you think Avalanche felt when he lost his match win in CC3? Turnspeed is something that is easy to iron out in a simple AI code. One that you can do YOURSELF. I totally agree with what SKBT said. A unidirectional SnS (which pretty much all are nowadays) spinning backwards is like a popup driving backwards. It just does not work. Stop BAWWWing about this. This AI error is more clear than Flying Guillotines. I do not know how the AI got messed up along the lines, and I do not care about that.

@Viper: I would rather wait for our match to get this one right rather than see ours and get that one wrong.

ooookk.. let me clear up some things

If you cannot AI and you are sending in an entry it is your responsibility to inform the host how you want it to operate, nobody elses I made this very clear in Clash Cubes 3 so is anyone complained it used a different python, etc was there fault and there fault alone.

Match restarts are fine so long as there is an obvious issue that effected the match, you can tell the difference between abuse and an actual error, rather then dealing an absolute (yes or no on the restart) you should investigate, for 123 / Avalanche I fixed up the mistake in the bindings and tested it out in different scenarios to see if it actuality was hindering the robot itself.

There results were vastly different so the match was recorded once again (so there is no, "having luck in a do over match" it proven in testing its fighting better so whatever happens in the match happens.

Also Badnik I know the annoyance of people complaining over tournament outcomes but there is no reason to get that angry over it, you dont get anywhere, I know I didnt set a great example over that but hey I am human too but I have learnt better ways.

Nice we got to the win pretty easily, @ somebody I love the sns I never got a chance to see it in action because for some reason it always crashed my game when making it fight with the AI. I can't wait for are next match becuase we are going to be facing bots that are going to hunt are bot's down better unlike in round 1. well I didnt let Nary down (that was my biggest fear in this tournament :P)

but I was getting tired of winning the matches while he danced in circles them some crazy reason loose and he is the only one left :P

good matches Viper and SB, 123 and JD

and thank you Badnik for reviving this mess into something well organized.. it was slow there for a bit but you powered through with craaig speed in the end :P

Yes we did lose to good bots but I thought we would of put up a much better/closer fight than that, that was embarrassing to watch :frown: .

dont feel all bad.. Jugglers render crawlers strategies a lot less effective and T-Road was designed to pin SnS robots so our team was kinda designed to face yours

I disagree with the juggler part, When we hit look at the damage between me and Nary's bot I took none and he took some and that was just a 1 sec hit. Killing Season would of tore Nary's bot to pieces, and I easily had the better/sturdier weapons. The only bot types that renders Killing Season's bot type is VS's and flipper's, Killing Season is three times more effective if a bot gets under it and tries to battle it that way "Jugglers and Popups".

lol well exactly an oota, which means nothing but luck you really think he could of dismantle my bot or beat me by knockout haha? Ok you say a jugglers firepower's is at the top, so please tell me what 4-5 razors and 4-5 beater bars will do to 16-18 iron spikes and vlad spike, seriously humor me :laughing . This my last post on this because we all know what would of really happen if I didn't get oota or if I faced Nary's juggler 1 on1 so their is no need for me to keep debating about this.

Well I'm sure me and Nary both got are original AI's so I don't think that would be an issue ;) . You have already done so much for this tourney I wouldn't want you to have to be bother with this :smile: .

How would facing in a closed arena not prove anything? An oota proves nothing but you can bounce a bot out a low wall arena and "get an easy win". Balance in my favor lol, if his juggler can't fight to the death in a closed arena like any other bot then that's not my problem. A closed arena proves everything . An otta is an easy way to get a win, fighting to the death there is no easy win and no otta to save you only the best bot will win.
