Title: Robots in Space - Awards
Post by: RedAce on February 19, 2015, 06:45:15 AM

SBV Thread for Refrence (https://gametechmods.com/forums/index.php?topic=17519.0)

Once again comgrats to:

So now I feel that this needs some bonus awards for this tourney. Rules are:
-Anyone can vote.
-You cannot vote for your own bot(s)
-Joke votes will be thrown out.
-Honorable Mentions are accepted.
-Normal votes will get two points per votes and Honorable Mentions are worth one point. (So please make it clear)
-Voting will close in two weeks. (I will add another week for voting if there isn't a lot of activity)

The Awards are:

Innovation Award: The bot was different from the rest and well, it just makes watching this bot much more enjoyable because of that.

Picasso Award: The bot that you thought looked the prettiest from the visual standpoint with an awesome skin or how well the components were used.

Scariest Award: The bot you wanted to never face off against no matter what the circumstances would be in the match. If you saw this bot, all you would do is pray you don't fight it or win if you do fight it.

Unluckiest Award: The consolation prize for the bot that you thought would do much better but didn't because of it's bad match ups, or fate having a vendetta against it.

Innovation Award: cheese - How often do you see a wedge of cheese on wheels?

Picasso Award: cheese - Badnik obviously took a picture of real cheese and added it to his bot because I cannot find any cheese on google images that looks as good as his skin.

Scariest Award: cheese - Those 3 ramplates gave me nightmares, man.

Unluckiest Award: pomf =3 - Couldn't joke about this one. pomf =3 was really unlucky.

Errrm, maybe. It would would fit the whole space theme, but since that has strange terrain making bots with wedges absolutely worthless.

Also, please vote.

Okay, I'm going to be busy for the next few days, and when I mean busy, I mean REALLY busy, to where I'm pratctically absent. Hopefully, that shouldn't make this so difficult, but you don't have all the time in the world to vote.

Also, I probably should've mentioned this earlier, but if we have more than a two way tie, then we'll have a tiebreaker for only the bots that got the same number of votes to determine the real winner.

Whoa, It's almost been two weeks already? Well then, I'm gonna tally up the votes so far because I'm actually considering adding another week for voting. I also should have mentioned this earlier, but the winners of this, along with the other winners, will get a prize for each award. They'll be shown in the second tournament and you get your picks if you win one.

3 days to vote.

Also, I'm kinda surprised that nobody has sent in a single honorable mention yet.

Last day to vote guys.
And that last day is now over! Here are the winners:

Innovation Award:
Disastrous Recipe: 6 points
Diamond Miner 7 & Hex 2: 2 points

You gotta admit, while it didn't have the best run in the arena, it made it up with how cool and unique it is.

Picasso Award:
Yeti: 8 points
The 4AM Bot & Hammertime: 2 Points
cheese: 1 Point

Tibsy is a pretty good artist, and now his paint job skills were worth it in the end.

Scarriest Award:
Devil's Rosebush III & Plutonium: 4 Points
Crime Against Humanity 2 & Blood Shed: 2 Points
Yeti: 1 Point

A tie for first? Not bad. Even though it was a race of snails for this one, but it was a close one though.

Unlucky Award:
pomf=3: 10 Points
Diamond Miner 7 - 2 Points

This bot was a contender to do extremely well but it didn't. This should make up for it's luck since voting was pretty much a unanimous decision.

Congrats to All of our award winners 090901, Tibsy, The Ounce, and Virus Bomb! Once the Awards are all made, you can PM me or say what prize you would like to use for the next Robots in Space!

As a bonus, Badnik96 and Virus Bomb will be allowed to have one other prize component for being the Champion and Runner-Up Respectively!

And with that, this tournament is now officially complete. I liked how this turned out. It was a fun experience. I do want to host a sequel. however, I know this probably won't be something like BBEANS, Clash Cubes or Battlebots in terms of demand, but I do feel I could try to make this as fun as possible. But it's not really interest from the audience that could hold me back, but my future plans may have me swamped with things in my life.  We'll see though, I won't officially announce a sequel until my calender looks free and good to go into signups. I am announcing it now, A sequel will be discussed. Now that I got that off my chest, I'm gonna contact Craaig to say this tournament is done.
