Everyone please keep yourselves calm about this. It's Jonzu's tournament, I think he should get the final word on this. I understand that Preytor feels that the rules should have been more explicit, but there's nothing to stop him from submitting another entry. If your robot is deemed unrealistic, you could easily head back into the bot lab and make yourself another entry.

He may have written 'realistic' but no one has any idea what this means if there is no DSL or IRL before it.Quote from: Mr. AwesumSauce on October 03, 2011, 06:31:09 PMQuote from: Jonzu95 on September 16, 2011, 03:17:05 PMIt's said on the rules. No tis not.

They never changed. He may have added the rule, but he had the decision as to what realism was in his mind.

There are no rules being added or removed, all that is happening is clarification, which is what people are wanting, and what Jonzu has given. As I've said, you can easily enter another bot into this tournament, there's plenty of spaces left and nothing preventing you from doing so. As far as I can work out, the issue has been resolves and your robot has - unfortunately - been deemed unrealistic and ineligible for entry. I'm sorry, but that's just how I'm calling it.
Okay, firstly, you could have shot him a PM instead, it would have been less likely to be buried under everything. And second of all - in my view, at least - there's no help necessary, the matter has already been concluded. As I've said in my previous post, none of the rules are being altered, Jonzu is simply clarifying them for the benefit of everybody, which isn't against the Signups rules, as far as I can work out. I think we'd all be much more appreciative if you simpe accepted the decision of the tournament host and changed your bot so it does comply with the rules. It'd be a shame to see anyone miss a tournament in this kind of style.

There would be no clarification, there would only be the rules that you could see and base your bot off of. Thats what I did, my bot adheres to the apporved rules, so my bot should be allowed in.

However with it being in Stock, and with the further clarification that Jonzu has provided over the issue - which he is perfectly entitled to do, he is not CHANGING any of the approved rules, as I have said before - your robot has been deemed illegal. That's the long and short of it, I feel, and while Jonzu is partly at fault for not clarifying in the first place, I think we should all just put the issue to bed now. Preytor, your robot has been deemed illegal, and I don't think Jonzu will be entering it into the tournament. I think your best bet would be to build another one, in all honesty.
NFX, you are a genius.
No, you don't seem to be listening at all here...THE RULES ON THE FIRST PAGE HAVE NOT CHANGED.Jonzu has only CLARIFIED the rules on the first page. It happens numerous times in other Signups threads, there is no reason why this instance should fail to run smoothly like any of the others. The rules have always been the same, and while you may have interpreted them differently from everyone else, the final decision falls to Jonzu, the host of the tournament, to determine which bots are deemed realistic and which bots are deemed unrealistic. Please accept this, I don't want to have to post the same thing fives times in a row.
