Okay, just due to general demand, I am upping the capacity to 12 - which will mean no cluster's next season as I am looking to find a medium that works and stick with it.
The format will be 4 3-way melees, followed by semi-finals and the final.

I am also going to open signups for 24 hours only, and then randomly pick (well, I won't, the randomizer will) 12 people to enter (and if any of those aren't legal, I will re-roll for that place). This will give people in all time zones a fair chance to enter.

Whenever the topic goes through to signups, likely to be within a few days. I might speak with one of the tourney mods to put it up on a specific day, perhaps Saturday.

I'm literally going to have to poop out an entry in an hour or two, if I'm back in England in time.....

Challenge accepted.

Updated the rules just slightly, nothing major, all standard stuff. I must stress however, when signups open, I will not accept updates due to very limited slots. Be ready, is all I can say.

I would like for maybe 2 people to volunteer as Judges, judging on the old Style, Control, Damage, Aggression criteria. If you would like to volunteer, drop me a PM.

I think we're almost ready for green tick. I will probably put the tick up tomorrow night and then when the tournament moves to signups, it'll be a game of speed. DO NOT SEND ENTRIES BEFORE SIGNUPS OPEN or I will disqualify you.
because I haven't watched an actual episode of RW in a damn long time, I must clarify;

What kind of scale are you using for the judging? (aka 1-5, 1-10, 1-100)

I don't actually know. I don't even know what they used in RW.

DAMAGE. (Weight of 4) 1-5 points x 4 = Score for Damage.

AGGRESSION. (Weight of 3) 1-5 points x 3 = Score for Aggression.

CONTROL. (Weight of 2) 1-5 points x 2 = Score for Control.

STYLE. (Weight of 1) 1-5 points x 1 = Score for Style.

So a robot that scored 2 on damage, 3 on aggression, 4 on control, and 3 on style would have 28 points.

If it's opponent scored 5 on damage, but 1 on aggression, 2 on control, and 2 on style, it would have 29 points, just winning on out damage caused, despite having lower overall marks.

That's a really clever idea, using a randomizer to cut out the excess.

Thanks :P I just wanted to give everyone a fair shot at entering - should make up for the fact that it's not a mega-tourney.

But yeah, I'll use that scoring system should it be needed, and as I'm not actually entering it should be fair if I'm a judge.. if anyone else wants to that's also cool.

Finally, get building everyone, the tick is on.
(NFX/GK/Nary/Whoever sees the tick, I'd appreciate it if this was moved sometime during tonight/tomorrow due to the nature of the 24-hour entry system)

I could make myself available as a judge if I'm not back in time to meet the deadline.

Can I be a judge if my bot gets booted out by the randomizer?

Sure, I think with 2 possible judges and 1 definite (me) we should cover it, but we'll sort the rest of those details out when it comes to it.

I feel like now is also a good time to explain the voting aspect of the tournament, as it does need to be added to the rules (I forgot that I need to pop a few details in).

Essentially, when the splashes are created, I will require EVERY competitor to rate the other competitor's IRL-ness, honestly, on a scale of -2 (borderline not-irl) to 2 (Very IRL) via PM to me before the videos are released (2 days after Splashes are released). This vote will also be opened up to anybody not competing in the tournament - again to be closed before videos release. Voting will therefore happen in private and score additions/subtractions announced after the tournament has run.

Your placing in the tournament will also get you points, so on top of the potential -2 to 2 you score in the vote,
1st place = 5
2nd place = 4
3rd/4th = 2
5th-12th = 0.

Therefore, as you can see, winning the battles doesn't necessarily correlate to a tournament win. Good luck. ;)

After speaking to G.K., signups are due to open at 10:30 British time tonight, so in about 6 hours. They will remain open for 24 hours.

Also, I am very pleased to announce Wham has allowed me to use his new RW Arena, which looks absolutely stunning.
Thanks again, Wham.

Awesome, I'll be able to whip up an entry tomorrow evening then.

Gotta decide between another Steg sequel, a Behemoth upgrade, or a rear-hinged Firestorm....
