Post by: Jonzu95 on January 30, 2010, 04:59:15 AM
G.K. You don't have to AI all ''less good'' Tourneys example: WTT, Terror Twister etc...
Title: Re: ROBONOVA
Post by: G.K. on January 30, 2010, 05:04:54 AM
I don't consider them less good. I just want to be helpful. These guys can't AI.

Post by: Naryar on January 30, 2010, 05:56:30 AM
Honestly, i really think these guys should learn to AI on their own... and everyone should AI on their own anyways !

IMO if you have no AI-ing knowledge, you just don't start a tournament.

GK just a thought how about teaching others to AI rather then doing it for them ?

if you keep doing all there AI all they will do is come back and ask you for more  ;) teaching such knowledge could go a much further way then doing it for them

Probably would be the best long term solution. However, I'm not good at teaching that sort of thing. You should get S_M to teach them. He taught me.

No! There's already one of those running. There hasnt been a conventional Stock LW tourney since BBEANS3. Please keep it a normal 1-on-1 Stock tourney.
Title: Re: ROBONOVA
Post by: Stagfish on January 30, 2010, 05:13:01 PM

DOUBLE POST :P

is this a go then?

I say this to a lot of people...

compare your rules to another tournament ?

see the size difference ?

Im not saying you have to ramble on  but is my experience (5? tournaments) the more details you put into your rules the less exploiting or problems you will get from entries. try your best to not get caught out telling someone there robot isnt ok once they have built it even though your rules dont precisely have reasons to outlaw it.

Hey, since I can't build in stock at the moment, can I build it in DSL WITH ONLY stock components? it'll be a stock bot with only stock parts, in DSL.
Title: Re: ROBONOVA
Post by: G.K. on February 06, 2010, 01:38:46 PM
No Sparkey. the parts are different. The razor and iron spikes for example, are different components.

Post by: Stagfish on February 06, 2010, 01:41:54 PM
sparkey dont tell me you forgot to copy the stock ra2 folder so you can use stock without the cd

no:
my desktop has stock
stock won't install on my Laptop-not right OP
I installed DSL on my laptop
my Desktop got a trojan

I can play DSL on my laptop, my only working co. but I can't install Stock on it :P

Post by: powerrave on February 10, 2010, 07:30:23 AM
i think you are out of luck then until you get stock working again. if this tournament will go, i'm in.
Title: Re: ROBONOVA
Post by: Sparkey98 on February 10, 2010, 09:14:54 AM
well, he does not understand
I'm building it in DSL WITH ONLY stock parts, it's a stock bot, made in DSL!!!
Title: Re: ROBONOVA
Post by: JoeBlo on February 10, 2010, 09:25:14 AM
I think it is a case of you not understanding... DSL's stock parts are not the same parts as the stock ones... they may look the same but they use different text files from different locations.

yes a stock robot will load in DSL but it utilized parts in the CFZ which as far as I know are hidden=1 (aka not reachable in the botlab)
Title: Re: ROBONOVA
Post by: Sparkey98 on February 10, 2010, 09:26:42 AM
oh, crap, I built an awsome bot.
Title: Re: ROBONOVA
Post by: powerrave on February 10, 2010, 10:27:30 AM
then i'm afraid for you that the work on it was for nothing... well, not entirely since you now have a new awesome robot, but you can't enter with it.
Title: Re: ROBONOVA
Post by: Sparkey98 on February 10, 2010, 10:38:01 AM
yeah, and the fact that it's stock, with SL stock so I can't use it in stock or DSL, unless maybe I BFE of CFZ edit............(would that work?)
Title: Re: ROBONOVA
Post by: Stagfish on February 10, 2010, 10:42:17 AM
it might but you would kill your other parts
Title: Re: ROBONOVA
Post by: Sparkey98 on February 10, 2010, 10:53:31 AM
I mean edit the bots file, so that the components would only be edited in him, but the same in DSL.
Title: Re: ROBONOVA
Post by: Sparkey98 on February 10, 2010, 11:03:45 AM
what I mean is is to edit THE BOT only, so it will work in stock, nothing else will be alterd, I'm just gonna make him stock compatible.
Title: Re: ROBONOVA
Post by: Stagfish on February 10, 2010, 11:05:19 AM
the only way is to reinstall your stock or copy the stock parts to your dsl
Title: Re: ROBONOVA
Post by: Badnik96 on February 10, 2010, 11:08:55 AM
I'll make the decal transparent if you want, Stag.
Title: Re: ROBONOVA
Post by: JoeBlo on February 10, 2010, 06:11:10 PM
yes you could do it by BFE changing the locations of all the parts to stock directories

you would need all the names of all the stock text files, notepad++ and time to spare :P
Title: Re: ROBONOVA
Post by: G.K. on February 11, 2010, 12:56:04 AM
And he would have to use DSA.
