Video is almost 27 minutes long so saving and uploading (in full HD) will take some time. Looks like the tournament video playlist could run from between 1 and a half to 2 hours total.

I think you need to restart RA2 before you put my bot into a match or else it havoks like that.
Not sure though, I'll go test now.

It did the same in testing too, it's something to do with the bots turning to face the house robot because this is the only challenge it havoks in. And just to clear up the rule for those wondering:

Yeah I figured it out and it has to do with what player slot it is in.
For the small arena the bot needs to be in slot 4 or else it will havok.
However, the havoking is pretty lulzy, so I don't care what you do with it.

I invited Trovaner and a couple of others to join via PM, I thought it would be nice if Trovaner was a part of the tournament he helped create.

I wouldn't say that, it only happens against multiple opponents to my knowledge so it's all clear sailing from here (at least I got it working and you got some points from that challenge).

I didn't have the weight to point the weapons in the right direction (DSA and a nifty kinda made it heavy) and I wasn't able to exostack the anchors out far enough to use one of the extender's side APs. Most of my time was actually spent on getting the AI to drive. RA2 has problems with robots on their sides and NefariusBeing is no exception.

Useless Trivia:
-Its my only antweight and I made it solely for this tournament.
-I slanted the wheels so that it could drive on both sides. The chassis was getting to level with the ground for it to work without doing this.
-RA2 doesn't look at the roll (just pitch and yaw) when calculating the heading. It didn't even give access to a roll value (getHeading returns one pitch value and two yaw values (offset by 90 degrees)).

Personally, I'm fine with how it works. Besides beat the box, the rest of the challenges prioritize durability over the bot's offensive abilities. There also wouldn't be much point in me doing well since I've already got the arena and I don't spend much time in game anymore.

Out of all the contenders, I think Anty C. will do the best. It may struggle in the Survival round but it may get lucky and land a blow to the T-extender.

The dreaded weak point O.o I'm cheering for my bot Dipper, FireFly, NefariusBeing (because they are a bit different, yet effective designs if done correctly) and Firework(because it's the same type of bot as one of mine).

Beat the Box has been uploaded and results posted. Now time to explain a couple of things about the round that happened.

1. The bots that back up a lot use the same binding as most the other rammers, it seems to be a battery issue.
2. Immobilisation of the box is forced by the robots that won that way, the house robot is slow and those robots capitalised on that weakness and it's the same robot for everyone so please don't complain about that issue.

It failed a number of times in testing and would just tip over underneath the box lol. The box is a Middleweight (just) the weight is 370.7.

I made one exactly the same and it's in the challenge preview pics lol, my latest one has irons swing around in the middle part of the chassis instead of on top though.

I also renamed the "On Fire Rumble" to "Fire Fight", simpler and the name is more catchy IMO.

Are you pausing at the start of the match? The custom tactic is on a timer that uses real time as opposed to a counter (I got lazy). The tactic is meant to make the bot flip onto the correct side at the start of the match. I only tested this in the Robo Zone Arena though so its possible that I didn't tell it to spin the wheels long enough. Speaking of tactics, I should have finished my side swipe tactic...

Regardless, that round was pretty funny. Some bots did well and other bots just plain failed.

I can't get "axles vs actives" done this time-out but I will still have it happen as Trov has agreed to work on the arena for me and it should be ready for one of the next 2 time-out contests, so instead this time-out will be the rammer rumble. This also means that the Robo Zone arena will now come with not 1, not 2 but 3! new ways to play the game.

Robo Zone arena will feature:

The Robo Zone Rumble match - The 1v1v1v1 match with 2 bots starting and the 2 others joining at different intervals.
The Gauntlet match - A 1v3 match where 1 robot starts out facing 1 robot but others join in at set intervals and the bot can face up to 3 robots at a time if it doesn't knock any out in time.
The Robo Zone Team match - 1 half of each team starts the match and the other half of the team joins in later.

This could be the greatest prize in the history of robot arena 2 and GTM! :D

This round was meant to test every aspect of your bot with all the following tested:


*Battery life.
*Offence.
*Defence.
*Speed.

A lot of the round had luck involved, some got bad luck when the house bots worked together really well and other entries got good luck when the house bots got in each others way.

Some of my axle bots like mini - RPB have the same problem, dunno why it's happened with you bot in my game and not yours though. I couldn't change the starting position for it this time as position 2 would have made it part of the gauntlet team, it's a shame cause I wanted it to do well but still one round left and anything can happen.

Next up is axles vs actives and then it's onto the final challenge, survival! which bots will make it to the final? who will finish first in the points and get released last?

Top vs Bottom - The first place bot after survival and final entrant in the finals match vs the 3 bots with the least points in a gauntlet match! 3 minutes, Robo Zone arena, gauntlet rules.

Oddity OOTA - The most unique AW's in the tournament eogjfdbdfgF5438, NefariusBeing and Dipper face each other in a battle of the bizzare. Clawtop arena, 2 mins.

anty c really kinda crashed and burned there...... rammer versus vs..... hopefully i can get at vb's extenders so i start the final last. but either way, im still in the final to begin with, which makes me happy as this is the farthest ive ever gotten in a tourney  :smile:

Last place in survival shocked me, honestly thought it would do better.

If you guys want I can record and upload the SFTW Smash-up and the final tonight, what do you think? I'd love to wrap things up and hand out the awards so I can get to work on other things like the ultimate stock AW AI pack.

I really want to find out how my bot would have done if it didn't Havok in your game.
I mean, I averaged 13.5 points in the two my bot actually worked, I could have been right up there.

090901's bot was actually such a boss in Survival. It was too bad the challenge was based on how many points Ascension got rather than the challenger, though. For example, a plain chassis that survived to the end would place higher than a two-razor rammer that survived because Ascension would get more points versus the rammer.

I thought I was doing pretty well (even when I got kinda ticked off that my bot destroyed itself in the first challenge), but then Gauntlet just screwed me over. The KO that Skewer got there didn't even matter! D:

Anyway a big congrats to VB for winning, even without coming out on top in the tiebreaker!
