Notes:

I will be doing the AI (and bindings), unless you're willing to AI (and bind) yours.
Custom .pys are allowed, but you must send bindings.
You cannot enter, until I have received, and accepted your robot.
If you're using multi-extenders, they've been re skinned to black.
Titanium extenders may also get a re skin.
There will be an intro, and pre-match information (much like in Robot MPire).

The Arena:

Rules:

The game will be a fresh DSL. No custom parts, neither edited components. It will be Realistic: IRL based.
Because I'm new to hosting, I'm only allowed 16 entries.
Empty spaces (if any) will be filled up with bye bots made by moi - obviously.
This will be a Middleweight tournament.
The only Cheatbot2 part allowed, is the Judge motor.
The ONLY glitch allowed, is the small chassis.
Must have at least 2 wheel drive, and all wheel drives must have/show controlled movement.
Meaning no clusters, crawlers, scuttles, etc.
A robot CAN be upgraded (unlimited amount of upgrades), until the end of the deadline for entries.

Matches:

It will be a Single Elimination tournament, since this is my first hosting. Nothing too complicated - yet.
There will be a Rumble at the end of the Singles competition.
3 minute match, per match. Judges' decision will be based on points scored.
The arena will be the Combat Arena, with edited textures; no hazards.
          See "The Arena".
I will never disqualify a robot for havoking. If a havok happens, the match will restart, until there is a clear winner.
The rumble, will however allow havoks.

Added to, and change in the rules.

Judge motor is now the only Cheatbot2 part, allowed.
Must have at least 2 wheel drive, and all wheel drives must have controlled movement.

Byebot #5, Cosmos:

I've decided that I will do a Rumble, at the end of the Singles competition.
Title: Re: RNP: The HoriZon - Discussion
Post by: ianh05 on April 24, 2013, 10:35:07 PM
Are you making it so that if a bye-bot defeats someone that person goes through anyway? I was going to do the same thing with ARBBC if I didn't get enough teams for it, it's a good way to still have an entertaining match with bye-bots.
Title: Re: RNP: The HoriZon - Discussion
Post by: Probably Rob on April 24, 2013, 10:37:58 PM
If I have two (or more) recordings of one match where a byebot, and someone else's bot win, I'll probably flip a coin on which one to put through.

Either that, or make it fair and put the person through.
Title: Re: RNP: The HoriZon - Discussion
Post by: ianh05 on April 24, 2013, 10:47:03 PM
Bye-bots are just there to give the person a free match where they have no chance of not progressing through to the next round. I didn't have any bye-bots(bye-teams in this instance) in ARBBC so the people who would have faced them just went straight through to round 2.

Granted, you didn't know this, but it was actually reference to what me and someone else (in real life) joke about, when we see scam job advertisements on lamp posts, etc. since you randomly gave your email, and asked for entries.

You answered your own question...
I thought you couldn't accept entries until the tournament went through to sign-ups.

Yes, that is true. I finished reading the rules for the tournement, so I changed/added a few things.
Entry Level hosts usually don't set deadlines until after they enter signups because nobody knows for sure when that will be. It usually takes about a month and a half after the previous poll is started. We only need one more Entry Level tournament to be completed before the next poll is started. Also it is worth mentioning that, although it is my goal, I wouldn't count on the rules changing before the next poll.

Thought I would ask, entered a robot with DSL3 components originally in the BB6. Just didn't want to do that here

The ONLY glitch allowed, is the small chassis.

Considering I have no idea what the small chassis glitch is, that doesn't explain very much.
Title: Re: RNP: The HoriZon - Sign-ups
Post by: Probably Rob on May 07, 2013, 08:08:14 AM
If you slide down to get the smallest chassis, you can get a smaller chassis than that. Just click below the slider (shown in picture), and it'll shrink the chassis even more.

It's not even considered a glitch. Just just normal building.

I have a question. If two bots face-off and at the end none of them scores any points (Like a flipper VS flipper) what happens?
Title: Re: RNP: The HoriZon - Sign-ups
Post by: Probably Rob on May 08, 2013, 09:34:59 AM
I have two options:

1. Rerecord the match, and use the match that has a robot scoring the most points.

2. Put on a suit, and a tie, and become a controversial judge!
