Welcome, to RIP3!
This is the tournament putting a fresh twist on clusterbots, with LW/MW clusters, which must have differing types (with flails and popups banned) and a team name/theme.

Ty, Pwn, S_M, Logan and Conraaa look somewhat threatening. My MW could probably take every MW other than Mr. As and Pwn's if it's wedges work and the matches go in its overall favour, considering its damage potential (like Biohazard down in 10 seconds heck yes), but Chrome is rather weak and in danger. I might have entered Impaler if it wasn't for that damn flail rule :P

Badnik: Not too bad though the drum gives me a concern.
Conraaa: Looks really good.
Craaig: Mw seems fine but the LW has me concerned.
Gauche: Seems ok. The reach on the weapons though have me concerned.
Jack: It's...weird.
Logan: Looks pretty good to be honnest.
Madman: Should do well.
Marty: Same as Madman.
AwesumSauce: The VS's reach has me concerned.
Naryar: Basic tough Naryar stuff.
NFX: Will probably get to the final.
Poenyx: Won't do well but it has an oldschool feeling that I like.
Plazmic: Seems to exposed.
Pwnator: Interesting stuff. Should go far.
R1885: :SFTW
Somebody: Hi Shoop. Like the skis though.
S_M: Hi D'mt. Looks good.
ty4er: Hi Shark. Again looks well built.
Urjak: My pick to win.
Yoda: Could be better but I always love his designs.

Looking like a great selection of teams, with plenty of candidates to do well. I'm not holding out too much hopes, I think I need a fair amount of luck here. (lol@MassimoV thinking I'll make the final) Neither of my bots spins as quickly as they probably should, but they should hopefully do reasonably well, provided I don't get too bad of a draw. Although I do have that choice with my LW on which way up to start. =D

Yeah that crawler's got me screwed. TBH I should have just cloned Ounce's hammer rammer for the LW, at least that could outweapon something :P

Yeah, it was a toss up between her and....well, nobody else. 


For a majority of the entries, i'm hoping Pride goes after the MWs and let's Lust play around with/distract the  LWs.  That's more of her job anyway.  I probably should've entered a different one, but hey, Amy Pond :D


And i'm assuming NFX's Lightweight is a "he chooses which one for each match" type of thing?

Yes. Interchangeable in an Iron Outlaws manner. The wheels are even offset on the opposite version to provide the clearance it would have.

Ding ding ding. I choose which way up Sundancer starts the match. I'm very pleased it was within the rules, though, it's meant to prevent what happened to me against Urjak in Clash Cubes IV.

badnik: lw seems ok but the mw doesn't look too threatening.
conraaaaaaa: looks a bit scary to me. i should be able to outweapon his lw and outwedge his mw hopefully.
craaaaaaig: lw doesn't look too scary but the mw looks like it could do well.
gauche: lw probably wont do much but the mw looks a bit dangerous provided it's wedges are good enough. could go far
jack: gets my vote for wtf :P
logan: lw looks pretty cool, probably wont do too well because of how wide it isnt :P mw looks a bit scary though
madman: ogod that lw. the mw isn't much better to me unless it's wedges aren't good enough. probably going to do well
marty: because i totally didn't know you were entering a flipper :P the mw is a glass cannon aswell.
as: lw doesn't scare me much, looks like it will tip backwards quite a bit. mw is a bit of a worry to us wedges
nary: lw looks alright, nothing too special imo. mw is pretty much the same. could do well though
nfx: oh god i dont want to fight that thing. the mw will most likely screw my mw over and my lw wont be able to do much else

plazmic: the lw isnt going to do much at all but the mw may be a surprise. most likely not though :P

urjak: all depends on wedges. the mw looks nice though

Badnik: Personally, I would've gone with Minimus-style drum instead.  Pride should have fun with Saturos
Conraaa: great theme, and looks solid
Craaig: Pride against Revelations and Lust vs black holes and I might be okay.
Gauche:not bad at all
 Jack: wasn't expecting killdozer plows at all. Liking microwave safe, not so much shatterproof
Logan: That one of them there TRFBDEKEH thingies? pretty cool.  Andross looks a bit vicious
Madman: chrome beetle looks tough, and I like impact is imminent quite a bit.  Been wanting to build something like that for a bit now, and just haven't done it.
Marty:  decent lookin little flipper, but I hate the drive setup on Top not quite as much as...
AwesumSauce: I_I. nothing personal, i just don't like it aesthetically.  +_+  these things, i just think they're cute
Naryar: They're standard Nary Scary
NFX: I love the 'choose your own adventure' entrants. Good or bad, it's a great idea.
Poenyx: Won't do well but it has an oldschool feeling that I like. (no change in opinion from my copy/paste job)
Plazmic: a bit of armoring would've gone a long way.

R1885: Not much here.  I'll just keep quiet
Somebody:Fairly solid. Props for the ski use.  my favorite underused part

Yoda: There's one more thing about Pride that fits the theme that you guys haven't seen yet.  I just hope it's accurate.  And again, Karen Gillan:D

Badnik: Re-using bots makes me sad. MW is funny.
Conraaa: Awesome theme = CBP. Look dangerous.
Me: Awful. The revelation of Revelations is that it has ginger cat fur as a skin.
Gauche: Eh.. MW looks cool.
JD: One of my favourite teams, especially the angled HS. Craaig Brownie Points awarded for a motto. ;)
Logan: I wasn't sure at first, but could do well.
Madman: Looks tough.
Marty: With some of the bots here, the flipper is a dark horse imo.
Mr AS: Annoying names. I had to make + and _ with lines. Crawler = :(
Nary: Cool stuff, I am pleased. CBP for Motto.

Torreya isn't entirely reused. It's an update of my old Nar AI LW rammer that can't really beat anything. But this one can. And Cyclocosmia/Shoop/SnSnS 11.5 is my best MW, and is extremely well proven in tournaments. It also will allow Torreya to operate on its own without possible being killed by Cyclocosmia, and hopefully Torreya will allow Cyclocosmia to only have to deal with one other bot at a time.

Also, I didn't have time to build some completely new bots. :P

I don't remember, it was that good.

Serves me right for taking a long break from building.  After I looked at the splash and compared the bots to the rest of the entries I immediately had to start up DSL and make sure I didn't accidentally send over a BW or something...  I still can't really figure out how I got shatterproof to the weight limit... I must have put on 6 layers of Steel armor or something.  :P

Microwave Safe was totally intentional though.  I want to see how indestructable that plow is against the competition.   :evilsmile:

Ribbs, who I think I should do well against, or Urjak, who'll probably kill me. Again. Not a favourable draw, I don't think. I was hoping to meet him a LOT later on. Should be a great tournament, I reckon Urjak might get to the final, not too sure who he'll meet.

If I face Urjak and lose (which is entirely likely), then I get Naryar or Pwnator. This is not going to be an easy tournament for me. But at least I'll put up a good fight. =)

Can I make a suggestion? I might be alone on this, but the lack of sound in the match brings my enjoyment down a bit.  Can you either get music going through it all or have the battle sounds (that's the one I'd choose).

I've always believed leaving the sound out let's you guys play what you want, instead of me putting something I personally like and you guys don't on. And I don't record sound, but if I did, it'd be awful anyway because I have to speed the video up to an acceptable rate (lag).

No. They get updated at the end of each round, as they always have done. You can work out who you're against very easily.

Just an update - last night I filmed and rendered the rest of LB Round 1, and 2. Unfortunately Vegas hates me and the match parts of each video were just black... so just gimme time to gather the strength to bear the painfully slow rendering and there will be a lot of progress :P

1) I apologize this took so long. Big tournaments are not my forte, so I will revert to smaller ones. More on that later.

I am looking at running some awards, just for TTSHDBBDDTBL, Most Original Team, Most Fearsome Team, Team From The West and Coolest Team, I'll get that thread up in a bit.

Finally - next tournament news. I have an idea in progress in my mind for an IRL-style tournament, where your entry must essentially be the sequel to an RW bot, meaning it must bear a resemblance to the original. Almost like replicating and improving an RW bot. The winner of RIP3 has auto-entry into this, and it will only have around 8-12 spots.

Again, thank you for sticking around if you've got this far, and I hope to see you all next time. :)
