Title: Replica Wars 2 discussion thread.

OK, now that this is unlocked, time for Replica Wars 2, the sequel to the hit tourney Replica Wars!

RULES:
-DSL LW.

-Bots MUST be replicas of real life bots

-BFE and cheatbot parts allowed only if it makes the rep more like the real thing (no overpowered reps!)

-Arena will be RA2 t2 arena, with hazards OFF.

-bracket will be 1 on 1 then 4-way then a 4-way final.

-No losers bracket.

-if a match is ended by time running out, then I will decide on who advances based on the robot who overall performed best.

-If a robot havoks, it gets a free restart ONCE with the remaining competitors (say if a bot havoks when 2 bots are KO'ed, the match would restart with the remaining 2 bots)

-Skinned parts accepted but they must only be reskins. (no TXT editing except for name)

-NO FLAIL SNS

-Your bot cannot be a replica of a bot that is already in DSL 2.1.

-no 2 people can do the same bot.

-Multibots not allowed.

-In the case of byes, the 4 seeded bots will get byes first, then the next highest ranked competitors from RW, then the rest of the competitors from the first RW.

-If you have a bot IRL that is LW or below, you are advised to make a rep of it, but it isn't mandatory.

-Signups will open when there is an empty spot and will end a month after that. (This gives you PLENTY of TIME to make your reps, and I will NOT accept any bots after the deadline!)

-Bot updates can be sent until splash is posted.

And that's about it. Have fun in making your reps, guys.

Although, I must admit something. I'm really having trouble building a rep that I want that fits in with the weight limit. I know it was done to encourage building of IRL robots that GTMers built themselves, but I think it would've been far better if the weight had been middleweight.

I realise, but I've got to ask you something. As I'm more used to building DSL Middle and Heavyweights, what are the best motors to use for 4-wheel drive LW rammers?

Slimbodys if you can fit them. But the drive would be about 1/3 of your bots weight. :P

That's the trouble, really. Any robot I try to build realistically in LW always becomes too heavy, and even if I fix it, my useless computer ALWAYS resets the moment it tries to save   :trollface

and there's a ton more. This also ignores robots where the wheels aren't visible from the top/sides, where it could be 2 or 4 wheels.

So far im at the stage where im trying to figure out how good everything is, my recent discoveries include the piglet motors sucking on a heavy weight and the black snapper motor being quite fun lol

I'm assuming you mean the Mag? If you're making a popup, use BSG's, they save weight.

You do know this is an LW tournament? So you'd have two AW bots fighting one LW bot? ;)

If you can. Which I seriously doubt. The second chassis has to be a crawler anyway which makes the bot a fail.

I'm also not too sure about competitiveness, do stronger burst motors effect beater bars.

To be fair i'm gonna use a mousetrap replica, so it's not like the skin is the main problem.
