Presumably one of the robots still the winner's bracket will win, the other robots are mostly either gimmicks or contain one or two exploitable holes. Perhaps they'll be improved for next time?

Billy, do me a favor and beat that HS for me, kay?

So did I. It was a close wedge war, and I'm so glad I managed to actually get good wedges (even if I had to gut-rip 'em off I don't care. GG Badger.

Not looking forward to fighting geese. Those wedges look hard to beat.

A huge congratulations to Badger and commiserations to RedAce and geese. I thought geese (feels weird not saying Geice) was gonna sweep the entire thing, tbh. I was rooting for RedAce all the way because I love the bot type but I couldn't have asked for a better grand final. First fight displayed how RedAce got to the finals, by winning the grind game. Second fight displayed how Badger got to the finals, swiftly knocking his opponent out. The third match then displayed something that hasn't happened in the comp before; a bot recovering from losing its wedges in the opening grind against RedAce and pulling the fight back for the win. Really, guys, thanks a lot for entering this tournament, I've missed RA2 a bit.

My most favourite fights ended up being RedAce's last 3, too.

Glad to see that my plan of yeeting all the HS out of the arena on the first hit came to fruition. GG to all, I do feel a bit bad about winning with a lazy year old re-entry though. I really do want do another tournament. It's just a matter of what kind of tournament would attract attention yet it be something I'd be interested in.

I've always viewed Double Elim as two single brackets with a popular option of giving the winners bracket finalist a second chance, rather than the tenet being that everyone has to get eliminated twice. Considering the BO3 format, I thought it would be weird and drawn out to do back-to-back BO3's but maybe I'm misguided in that view. I hope you don't feel cheated out of an opportunity or anything and I hope you enjoyed the tourney.

Eh, fair enough I guess. I think I was mostly going off my knowledge from BBEANS and the Wikipedia Page (or at least this bit here):

The rationale is that since the tournament is indeed double elimination, it is unfair to have the W Bracket champion eliminated with its first loss. Therefore, while the W Bracket champion needs to beat the L Bracket champion only once to win the tournament, the L Bracket champion must beat the Winners' Bracket champion twice.

For the record, not salty, just a tad disheartened by the choke in that last match. Still enjoyed the tourney regardless. Some of those matches were just straight up tense.
