Okay so I've been thinking of doing this for a while now and I've decided to post about it before I do it, just to see what people though of it.
Also before I go on, is there any mods out there that contains all robots from series 1-7, Extreme Wars and from the Roaming Robots?
Because what I have planned is with all of the robots, I want to recreate the series 1-7 including the Extreme Wars and other side events. But just change it up. Meaning in series 1 head A it could have for an example; Chaos 2, Storm 2, Diotoir, Iron Awe 5 etc. etc.
Hope you people get my point, if not then I'll try to explain it a bit more if I can....
-
Unfortunately there are no mods that contain all those bots - nowhere near, and there never will be, I doubt.
Would this be a display tournament then?
-
Yea I guess it would be....
Then I guess what I could do, is with maybe help from people with creating the bots and AI.... Maybe what could do, at least for the first series was to get all the bots and randomise them and place the randomised robots into Series 1.... Would that work? I could try my best to create and AI (with help, like I said... Since I'm new to AI'ing)....
-
All the bots from every series? I'm afraid that won't happen - there have been efforts to make every bot from a single series that have all failed. The most promising currently is this: https://gametechmods.com/forums/index.php?topic=15800.0 (https://gametechmods.com/forums/index.php?topic=15800.0) which is an effort to make all the bots from Series 1. Perhaps it would make sense to help finish this pack, and then this tournament could be run using Series 1 bots?
-
Oh no, what I meant was to randomise robots from the entire Robot wars like from S1-7 and Extreme and that, and then place them into series one.
Like for an example
Heat 1:
Chaos 2
Razor
Eruption
Revolution
Grunt
Evil Weeval
And then I would make those robots and then I'll do heat A and such, if that makes any sense...
-
Well I'll move this thread into Display Tournaments and then you can work something out - either way, it's going to involve a lot of bot making and AIing on your part
-
Yea I'm willing to
-
Although it could take a while before I a episode appears.
-
Okay so I found all the robots from Robot Wars and Roaming Robots. and I put them in a randomiser and got 36 robots for the Series 1 of Recreated Robot Wars. So down below will be the list of robots.

Ok, so I'll send you a pm about this. I really like the idea and I've been thinking about the same thing. Not with jaydee wars but something else.
-
Okay I'm just going to assume that this is set up like Series 4 and that the first three names are Melee One, and the other three are Melee Two. Same with the Grand Final, I'll assume it's run the same way as a Heat.
HEAT A
Fluffy VS Ripper VS Darke Destroyer: Darke Destroyer would get flipped over straight away, no contest, move on.
The Grim Reaper VS Ansgar 3 VS PulverizeR: A difficult match to predict, PulverizeR is going through but it's between the other two... As disappointing as it was in Series 7, Grim Reaper would probably win.
Fluffy VS The Grim Reaper: As long as Fluffy doesn't lose signal again it would easily win.
Ripper VS PulverizeR: PulverizeR can't get at the electronics of Ripper and has a high ground clearance. Probably would get flipped out of the arena or into the Pit.
Fluffy VS Ripper: Ripper would just keep flipping until Fluffy breaks down. Fluffy can't hit the electronics either.
HEAT B
Trouble 'n' Strife VS Cataclysmic Variabot VS Scrapper: Battle of the crap robots. Scrapper would get knocked over and can't self-right.
Typhoon 2 VS Panzer VS Uglybot: Typhoon 2 would go for the tracks on Panzer and break them. Also Uglybot would do sod all but still go through.
Typhoon 2 VS Trouble 'n' Strife: Although Trouble 'n' Strife weren't bad in Series 5 they wouldn't stand a chance.
Cataclysmic Variabot VS Uglybot: You figure it out.
Typhoon 2 VS Cataclysmic Variabot: Shell Spinner + Box = Small Pieces.
HEAT C
The Spider VS SAT'arn VS Beast of Bodmin: SAT'arn was a Featherweight. Game over.
Loco VS Ewe 2 VS Scrap-2-Saur: Loco isn't invertible. Discuss.
The Spider VS Ewe 2: Ewe 2 wouldn't break, The Spider had crap weapons.
Beast of Bodmin VS Scrap-2-Saur: Again, Beast of Bodmin isn't invertible. Discuss.
Ewe 2 VS Scrap-2-Saur: Scrap-2-Saur had the better flipper.
HEAT D
Spam VS Pika 3 VS Spawn of Scutter: Difficult, none of the robots in this heat are any good. Spam would probably get ganged up on and lose by a judges decision.
BOD VS Hammerhead 2 VS Tetanus: Tetanus or BOD would get flipped. Probably Tetanus.
Pika 3 VS BOD: I really don't know, probably Pika 3.
Spawn of Scutter VS Hammerhead 2: Hammerhead maybe.
Pika 3 VS Hammerhead 2: Once again I honestly don't know, I don't see any of these matches not going to a judges decision. I think in the end Hammerhead 2 would take the decision.
HEAT E
Torque of the Devil VS Shadow of Napalm VS LizzardWhat version of Lizzard? I'll assume the first. Torque of the Devil is going nowhere in this.
Tanto VS Kat 3 VS Robot The Bruce: Kat 3 could put some good holes in Robot The Bruce, and Tanto will just keep coming back. Robot The Bruce should be eliminated.
Shadow of Napalm VS Tanto: Napalm will never achieve anything.
Lizzard VS Kat 3: I don't think Kat 3 will be able to chase Lizzard and hit it enough. Lizzard to win.
Lizzard VS Tanto: Difficult, but Lizzard would be able to get a good swipe or two at those big exposed wheels.
HEAT F
Invertabrat VS Basenji VS Corckscrew: Corkscrew was hugely underrated and never got where it should have. Basenji stants no chance whatsoever against it.
Aggrobot 3 VS Marauder VS The Revolutionist: Marauder is a middleweight. Moving on.
Invertabrat VS Aggrobot 3: Experience pays off, Aggrobot 3 would win.
Corkscrew VS The Revolutionist: Corcescrew has more durability and can self-right too if it needs it.
Aggrobot 3 VS Corkscrew Aggrobot wasn't the most reliable, and Corkscrew is pretty vicious too.
GRAND FINAL
Ripper VS Typhoon 2 VS Scrap-2-Saur: I don't think that Typhoon would be able to get up to speed in time before it would be flipped. Also it's against two opponents so that makes avoidance harder.
Hammerhead 2 VS Lizzard VS Corkscrew: Lizzard isn't invertible and the chassis isn't that strong.
Ripper VS Hammerhead 2: I can easily see this going Ripper's way.
Scrap-2-Saur VS Corkscrew: This is probably where it goes pear-shaped for Corkscrew.
3rd Place Playoff - Hammerhead 2 VS Corkscrew: Did you see what Typhoon 2 did to Hammerhead 2 in Series 7? Corkscrew all the way.
Grand Final: Ripper VS Scrap-2-Saur Ripper seems more durable and in the end it would win, judges decision or not.
GRAND CHAMPION: Ripper
There.

This is RA2. What you said about fluffy v ripper,
Using SR's fluffy and Wham's Ripper (S7), fluffy would keep ripping (get it!) its sides off and knock out the chassis. Believe me. It's that powerful.
TK, I'll send a PM tomorrow. Good luck with this by the way.
-
I was talking IRL.
But if Ripper doesn't win this then its rigged.
-
Ok, so I'll send you a pm about this. I really like the idea and I've been thinking about the same thing. Not with jaydee wars but something else.
Okay cool, yea I've always wanted to do this myself... BTW how do I check my pms? I'm new to this site.
-
And for Series 1, it's gonna have the same format as the real series one. But just changed up a little since there's nothing like the gauntlet for RA2.
Round 1:
King of the Hill:
Each robot will take a turn of where, they need to drive up to the centre. And they got to stay there as long as possible within 1 minute, while there will be some AI'd like House Bots will try to stop the robot from staying in the centre. The robot with the least amount of time staying in the centre will be eliminated.
Round 2:
FlexTop Sumo:
Pretty much the same as the normal sumo from RW, the shortest to stay in the circle within a minute will be eliminated.
Round 3:
Heat Semi Finals
Round 4:
Heat Finals
And for the Grand final. You'll have to wait and see what I have for that.

-
oh alright.
-
For thoughs that are wondering this is still in the works... I'm currently dealing with AI'ing which have no clue on how to do, so if any one that has experience on that, can you please help me.

I sent you a pm saying I'd do it for you.

what point has this post then?

I'd AI for him. I've fixed my methods to what the people here want.

Okay if your fine with doing so...
I'm planning of doing something cool with this and I want to have some judges for the battles, as between 3 or 5 judges to judge the battles, since I don't find myself the best judge in the world so if people want to do so themselves feel free to let me know.. And with that, I'm keeping the same Judge Criteria as the Robot Wars one but changed it up a little which will be explained down below
Style refers to how well the robot entertained the viewers and demonstrated its abilities. One would lose points for style if it did nothing entertaining during the battle. Style is judged to be the least important of the criteria.
Control refers to how well the robot drove during that battle. It also gives weight to how much control the robot had over the flow of the battle. Ways to lose points for control include getting pushed around, and poor avoidance of arena hazards. Control is the 5th most important factor in a judges' decision.
Survival refers to how well the robot survives the match during and a the end of a battle. One example is 101 where it can get banged up a fair bit and take a lot of damage but keep going (vs Razor, vs Dominator 2) a battle. Ways to lose points on survival if the robot doesn't look like it is going to survive the battle. Survival is the 4th most important factor in a judges' decision.
Ending Match Outcome refers to how the match is ended by the robot when going to a judges decision. One example is when a robot flips another over when a battle ends (sorry couldn't find a good example, please let me know if there is). Ways to lose points is to be the one that is flipped over or something bad happening to it as the match ends. Ending Match Outcome is 3rd most important factor in a judges' decision.
Aggressions refers to how aggressive the robot was deemed to be during the battle, not necessarily causing damage. Aggression can only be outweighed by damage. Aggression is 2nd most important factor in a judges' decision.
Damage refers to the amount of damage inflicted on the other robot as a result of one robot's actions. Damage is the most important factor in a judges' decision.
Weighting of Judge Criteria:
DAMAGE. (Weight of 6) 1-5 points x 6 = score for Damage.
AGGRESSION. (Weight of 5) 1-5 points x 5 = score for Aggression.
ENDING MATCH OUTCOME. (Weight of 4) 1-5 points x 4 = score for Ending Match Outcome.
SURVIVAL. (Weight of 3) 1-5 points x 3 - score for Survival.
CONTROL. (Weight of 2) 1-5 points x 2 = score for Control.
STYLE. (Weight of 1) 1-5 points x 1 = score for Styles.
And that's all I got, but I'm feeling kinda iffy about Survival and Ending Match Outcome; tell me what you think.
