2nd match - This is an IRL...

5th match - Whoever has the lowest ground clearance

6th match - Enigma

7th match - Gatorphilia 2

overall, not a bad turnput but there's only a handful of bots competitive enuff 2 win
the dsl-s bots are gonna sweep the first round, but itll get interesting but the semifinals

MR. MEESEEKS-Obviously built by some one who never tries standard
Fingertips-Seen it before, judging by the competition it should do well
Tumbly Tumblr-I don't get it
Gatorphillia II-Looks good for IRL, too bad this is a standard tournament
Entropy 1.5-It's done well in the past and will probably do pretty well here
Yawn Mower-The chassis looks so damn big is the problem, supports could be cleaner. But it will take out all the IRL bots here
Damocles-Probably won't do too well
Off the Rails- We'll see about this one, probably will atleast get by the first round
2fast-DONT JUDGE ME I BUILT THIS IN 35 SECONDS!
Varan-Interested to see how this one does, the only flaw I see is exposed motors but that's it
Sharkbite 1.5-Fine for IRL, this isn't IRL though
Enigma Machine 3000-Can't really see how that middle wedge is positioned but the bot looks pretty good
Cirrostratus-IRL, next...
Thyrus-Well it looks like the name says, could be better with a wedge out front and more weapons but whatever
Jayl Byrd-Interesting, the Fight to the Finish might give him problems
Catharsis-lol i dont care that it's IRL, it's too funny

Predictions from the guy who's messed around enough with all these bots!

MR.MEESEEKS - Slimbodies for drive.
Fingertips - Its got a good wedge, the trialbot trial might be a challenge for it.
Tumbly Tumblr - It was mainly a joke bot, but can hold its own surprisingly enough...until it loses a wheel.
Gatorphilia II - I love the look of it, the flipper isn't the most powerful though.
Entropy 1.5 - Definitely one to look out for here, its an angled HS but it tends to work as a juggler against most bots. Also, no spikeballing  :dumb)
Yawn Mower - Going head on against it is not wise lol.
Off The Rails - Want to see this against Varan since they're so evenly matched. Its pretty fast but we all saw what happened to NFX last time.
Sharkbite 1.5 - good pushing power and can self-right, but slowly. Trialbot match will also be a challenge for this one.
Enigma Machine 3000 - That middle wedge is a flipper ;) Another bot to look out for.
Cirrostratus - Mauler-esque weaponry, not necesarily bad.
Thyrus's long-named bot - It can cause some really quick KOs, the exposed weapon motor might be its downfall.
Jayl Byrd - Another quick rammer, FTTF might not be friendly to it.
Catharsis - There's a HW version of it too. Will probably get destroyed, but that's what it was made for :bigsmile:
2fast - A decent poker, worth a couple of wins if the spikes don't fall off.
Varan - Fast and packs a punch, I can see this winning.
Damocles - Well, it is what it is. Probably the biggest MW here next to Catharsis.

If I made out of my own custom parts then in all honesty it will probably end up looking a bit like that Pumpkin robot from the Robogames!

I probably could have made a better bot given more time (and practice; I haven't built in DSL for 2 years :l), but should still be good.

Gatorphilia has actually been completely rebuilt internally for this tournament. It now has 4 wheel drive with Astroglide motors instead of the Piglets. It's the same chassis and paint job though. Also, the robot unfortunately is mostly for looks now. I didn't quite read/understand the rules fully so the Judge burst that was originally powering its weaponry had to be replaced with a regular Mag burst so it is significantly less powerful.

I'm still figuring out what all the building rules mean. On the other hand, I also wanted an excuse to build more bots. :P


I think Tummy Tumblr has a cool armor design, and I like the themed design of Damocles. Both seem like they might not go the farthest in the tournament but they're interesting robots. Sharkbyte 1.5 is probably my favorite in the lineup though, I think that one stands a pretty solid chance of getting the title.

So now we have 4 semi-finalists in the winners bracket and 3 in the losers bracket. I'll be doing the winners bracket semi-finals first and the first to lose there heads to the losers bracket semi-finals to take the last spot.

Seems unfair to all the other Semi-finalists though. There isn't really any good way of doing the Loser's bracket though since only 12 bots went out in the first wrong.

Just want to state that, once this tournament is done, I'll be making some changes and possibly add some new trials (which I'll probably need some help figuring out). As for the losers bracket; its still a new and, somewhat experimental, idea that I really wanted to try out, and will also be worked on. I know some things seemed rather off this time around and I plan on fixing this for next time.

So, I guess for now we might as well enjoy the semi-finals as is :)

Just seen the first video of the losers bracket between me and chickendildo and it won the KOTH by far. And frankly if it was down to aggression I would have won the trail to event.... But either way I'm out, Ahh well.
