Title: RA2 Team Championships 3 - Signups

Basic Idea:
Users work in 4 teams of 6 to compete in a tournament.
Each user makes one bot.
There are different matches for the teams to try & earn points.
The team with the most points at the end of each heat wins, & moves into the final.
Team leaders PM me which of their team's bots will be in which matches (Obviously the LW will have to be in the LW faceoff)

Rules:
1. DSL Heavyweights (+ One DSL Lightweight & Middleweight)
2. Enforced realistic rules apply, only bot types seen IRL are allowed (no popups, jugglers, flail shell spinner ect.), this does not stop you from making a tiny chasis with a few ants & a control board in & everything else externally mounted however.
3. No cheatbot2 or custom components.
4. Crawlers NOT allowed
5. Multibots NOT allowed
6. Please AI your own bots or get someone else in your team to AI. If not, I can AI but all I will guarantee is that your bot moves towards the other team & uses its weapons.
7. Usual havok rules apply, one havok - restart, another havok - forfiet.
8. All building must be done in the bot lab. No BFE or AAM or anything like that.
9. All matches will last for one minute.
10. Not best out of 3 matches ect. 5 matches in each heat, one of each, no second chances!
11. One upgrade ONLY
12. SNS Specific Rules :

Please do not spend hours skining your bots as I will re-paint them anyway so that it is obvious which team it is in!

If your team wins your heat, you progress to the final.
If your team loses your heat, you progress to the 3rd place play off.

Team leaders are basically so that I don't have to PM every entrant to inform them of something & so that there is no confusion when they PM me which bots in which matches. They may want to guide their team also.
I will pick an appropriate team leader from each team. I will not make anybody a team leader without their consent beforehand.

That's not actually a shell spinner, though, it's just the top of the machine spinning round. I wouldn't like FSS allowed, though, just because they're too much of a havok bomb risk.

Erm somebody... I, and I alone, am the leader of NNQEC ! I will decide what happens, with consideration with my teammates of course. But still.

My reforged team seems pretty good, however I will carefully monitor Ben Purse's building attempts (especially that he is against Pwn) and Enigma's as well. Not that I don't trust a villain's minion, but his bots often end up failing in tournaments.

I don't think chaining motors would work, you'd have to have some hideously complicated wiring arrangement.

Chaining is in no way realistic, and to allow it in a tournament that has a stricter realistic rule than standard dsl rules is ridiculous!

However, I have not been online at all for the past three days, (due to being away in London)
As some of you will be aware, I won't be around Fri/Sat/Sun due to the FW UK Champs at the NEC

Right basically, this is whats going on right now

I've been given a HUGE project to do and its taking all my time, was set to be done over the weekend but....
My parents have booked a trip abroad for the four day weekend, due to the royal wedding (lol patriotism)
This means that I will not be online for the next four days, or mabye a few days after that

But you still need to have your bots in by May 5th, PM has been sent, I will have a huge load of AI work to do when I can get back online but oh well :P

Well, last time around, when members didn't bother building, other members built replacement bots for them. Hence why RA2TC's Team 3 was comprised of Squirrel_Monkey, Badnik, Pwnator, Scrap Daddy, Pwnator and Scrap Daddy. But it's Vertigo's call.

That is why i made my comment. 

What is to stop them from sending their bots to the team leader and have the leader submit them as replacements.  There is really no way to know.  So, technically, they still have some time left.

If a backup bot is sent, and the person who was originally supposed to send for that bot then sends their bot, the backup is no longer used

Right, I need some help here

Yesterday I copied files across from my old laptop (Vista), to my new one (Windows 7)
Now, the copy with all the RA2TC bots in doesn't work
I have searched the problem down to the AI folder, and the teams.txt file
If I put the file in the game, it crashes on the startup screen, if I leave it out, it works, but there is no AI
There is nothing wrong with the file, I've tried putting a standard DSL one in and it doesn't work

Help?
