As he doesn't have to send AI, asking to wait for AI isn't spot reserving. If he doesn't send you the AI by the time you start filming, then you AI it yourself, generally. The bots themselves are the deciding factor, rather than the bindings as these aren't necessary for entry. Spot reserving is only when somebody clearly says SAVE MY BOTS A SPOT rather than 'here's the bots I'll send AI later' as I expect 09 did.
This is just the general way to go around this kinda situation.

Well, I'm happy to give up my spot anyway if it allows you guys to both enter. I mean I don't think I have a chance of winning anyhow and to be honest I don't really want to win my own tournament.

Signups has been filled, but not all of the bots have been AI'd etc, so I'm not closing the topic until I have done that. Exams and things are messing up my timetable, but I have some free time on the weekend to finish the brackets, splashes and AIing, so expect the SBV thread to be up late night Sunday (UK time btw).
