No Holds Barred Tournament - Signups

I'm back again with my second tournament, No Holds Barred. I have ran a poll already to see if anyone wanted this and this was equally as popular as Father and Son 2, so I thought I would start with this was first.

What is this tournament about?

Up to UltraHeavyWeight, entrants have no restrictions, this includes all cheats and all of cheatbot2 (apart from hovercraft engine.) This is just a fun tournament and you shouldn't take it too seriously.

Important notes:

-Make sure your bot is creative as well as an ultimate fighting machine.
-DSL 2.1 Unrealistic
-The arena being used will be Containment Cube (to make sure all but one robot will be destroyed in every match!)
-Don't go too OTT with the glitches (in other words, don't make your robot invincible, because that's no fun but making it sturdy but can be destroyed is fine.)
-16 entrants (may change depending on the speed of things)
-1v1 matches
-Matches have no time limit

Building 'rules'

-Must show controlled movement in any way.
-Walkers, shufflers, etc. allowed. They won't get a weight bonus as such but only half of their 'legs' will count towards their weight.
-Multibots are not allowed.
-All of cheatbot2 (apart from hovercraft engine) allowed.
-Use of in-game and out-of-game glitches is fine.
-No custom components.

Side events

Grudge/Exhibition matches (I'll allow 4 people to arrange a match with any competitor they want after the main tourney is over.)
Viewer's choice rumble (You vote for who should be in a 4-way rumble after the main tourney is over.)

I'm not entering myself because I can't build for anything.

You're entry will be denied if I think the criteria isn't met or the robot is just too bland/boring (i.e. nothing but beta hammers/judge gavels)

Orange - I have received your entry and I am about to check it.

Red - Your robot has a problem (you'll stay on the list until it's fixed but you can be replaced.)
I will notify anyone who hasn't passed checking and ask them whether they want to try again or leave the tournament.


Just a heads up for the small amount of people that want to build for this, I have changed my mind about the deadline for this. Normally, I would keep signups open as long as need be as I can get the SBV and awards done fairly quick but I don't think I should drag this out any longer. I will give everyone a week (11am BST, Saturday to be exact.) If I get no entries by then, then the matches will be 3 1v1's with a wild card round in the prelims. I never quit on things and I will try to finish what I have started no matter what it is. I will see this through to the end, even if it means this will be a very short tournament. Don't worry though, for the people that wanted it and were hyped up for it, Father and Son 2 will be next.

Not sure how well this is gonna go over, but it sounds interesting.

I do suggest banning custom components. If someone uses components you don't have, it will ruin this whole thing right off the bat.

Custom components haven't been confirmed, so I think that's a given but I'll add the ban anyway, just in case people get carried away. Also, it may take a well for people to make the bots, but I think it will go well.

Keep it dsl 2.1 with non-cheat components.

Also you should just put it as an UHW tournament (5000 kg's)... and ban multibots. Really.

There is no fun in watching an UHW go against a LW because in 99,99% of cases we know how's the match gonna end.

It's No Holds Barred for a reason, it will have cheatbot2 components. Multibots are banned. Also, I know it says 'up to UHW' but I think everyone will make their bot an UHW. Like you said, nobody's going to make anything less if they know they're just gonna get creamed.

Am I at least allowed to make the weapons play different noises when they're hit (Like I did with Hitler 64 in BB9)? Just imagine 100+ beta hammers playing full length songs whenever they hit something, all of them stacking on top of each other over the course of 3 minutes.

All game audio is cut out and replaced with mine, so do it if you want, but it won't show in vids.

Also I am very interested by this tournament, been a while since  I hope you don't bail out, yugi.

I will try to build a flame-spewing behemoth of a hybrid bristling with weapons for that. Something really badass and intimidating and cool. Maybe with custom sound components as well ?
