Woah I had no idea this was actually happening... I'm not gonna be doing very well, QC is very outdated, preceding even The Orange Is A Tasty Fruit. Those 25kg Meat Tenderizers ain't gonna last long on a MW. But I think I can win my first match. XD

Back when Ribbs announced this tournament... I downloaded DSL and built a bot for it.  So, technically it is my first bot and I fear that lawnmower blade is not going to last long against anyone.  Annnd my wedges probably wont get under anything whatsoever.  XD

First round loss for me! Wheeeee!

Doubt that, you're up against a bot with DSA, crappy armor covering it, NPC fasts, and lifting spike strips that barely gets under anything.

Lol, my bot was built back when I sucked. I haz an update but ribbs wouldn't accept it though. Luckily all the rest of the bots suck, except Nary, Scrap, Pressure, Thyrus and Craaig :P

EDIT:@Badnik The loaners are out of the tournament, but I might do a rumble with them just so you guys can see them. There noting spectacular, all have weak weapons with a decent drive train.

im not usually one to mumble at a match but.... well that was quite unfair both being counted out at the same time and I had more points but still lost twice (stupid RA2) :/

also I thought I gave you THZ.py which would avoid countouts

I apologize if I upset you, but that result happened every single time I did that match.  It would end the same way each time. I just chose to go with what the game said.
If it would make you feel better, I could redo the match to make it more fair by using your THZ.py.

I understand its not your fault.. its the games mechanics I am annoyed at, player 1 will always loose in a double count-out, UI guess its so you cannot pin AI robots to win matches when human controlling


though I would like a redo since it was an unnecessary loss.. if you dont already have THZ.py here it is...

I am impressed at how well flail hammers work on spin motors.  And also surprised it doesn't AGOD.  JB definitely deserved the win in that match.  (Unless, of course, that one tooth would break on Smash's hammers...)

the idea behind it was focus more on faster impact over weapon count.. it starts to build up quite good momentum

as for AGOD it had some problems with the doorhidge wedge and firing the hammer for some reason..(so now it has a static wedge) but beyond that seems quite stable

I was wondering that too Badnik. I was pretty shocked at Smash 4 beating Black Mamba. I was wondering why neither backed up. Though I did laugh a slight amount. I didn't think Pressure was still around, but then I remembered that the sign-ups were like in 2008.

Franzy.py wont back up (something I fixed with my THZ.py) and since player 1 will always loose in a double count out I guess the player 2 robot wont attempt to move same as a normal countout

oops type :P I meant to write Frenzy.py

they are the AI coding files, each one holds different tactics for the robot written in python code.

Frenzy.py was written by someone for the robot Frenzy in DSL 2, its designed to swing a hammer back and forth when a robot is in its "weapon zone"

THZ.py was written by me for my robot Terrorhurtz, it essentially does the same things as Frenzy.py but a bit different in areas, the main thing is it has an immobile checker so if its being counted out, it will move back and forth to break count.

Slender Man gets the Most Realistic award.  I love how that bot looks.  Complete with decals and everything.


Also, congrats to Craaig.  'Bout time you got a tournament win.  Though it's funny how outdated Queen Calypso is now; it has the same weapons as Blood Orange.  :gawe:

Hah, thanks Click. And it really is odd, looking at Blood Orange compared with Queen Calypso now. It's cool to see how the design has developed, as QC was the first thing I'd made in the Orange-y look XD If the first version can win something, hopefully the later versions can get somewhere too! :D
