I thought it obvious that your bot reached through the dimensional portal through the walls of the video and caused the havok.  Am I wrong in this? Let's put it to a vote.  Yeah, I was getting pretty tired when I put that vid together, i think.  Nice catch.  You get an official "the force is strong with this one" prize.


CRAAIG was havok dq'd, not S_M.  Also, at the beginning of the video, it was suppose to be Black Crush, not Flying Spaghetti Monster on the preview splashes.  That's the official word, which trumps what was in the video.

In retrospect, I can see several ways I could have improved 6IT.  If I put the whole weapon system on pistons to give me more forward momentum, or even just extended the rear support to put the weapon higher off the ground, I'm sure I could've won by de-shelling FSM.
 
JD's bot seems to work how I wanted mine to work.  At least one of us got the design right!

Actually, all these matches are a blast to watch.  Each one is appx 10 mins of pretty close action. It looks like it can go either way with each match.

SKBT's beast it wicked intimidating.  Which surprises me.  I think Air of Confusion is doomed by the looks of how effective that bot operates.  Should be fun.

seems to happen a lot. the closer the bots get to just hovercraft and chassis, the more they tend to explode.  Seems to be a much higher frequency than non-hovercraft bots.  The last match, technically I guess could have been either bot causing the havok, But I attributed it to yours based on the fact that it had more components knocked off, which seems to be the most likely to cause it.  as far as the 'squirrel monkey' declaration, I just typed the wrong name.  hope that clears it up

Great match SKBT.  Our bots seriously looked like they were actually fist fighting a few times there. Those plows really put the lock-down on my hammers.  :P

Definitely faster than the one that died on me, and Lightspeed compared to the temp replacement.  It doesn't take all that long to get them processed.  All in all, i can't nor won't complain.


I'm gonna go ahead and say this now.  there will not be a sequel to this.  It was interesting to see what people would come up with, but all told, it's a bit boring in execution.  Main reason is there's not a whole lot of surprises.  For the most part, the second match is pretty much a repeat of the first match.   Also, I find it unsatisfying that when a bot is so close to being destroyed, it havoks into the ground. I kinda wish I would've left the normal havok restart rule out for this, as every time a bot has havoked, it's been at a point when we might as well just declare the other bot the winner of the match.  But, it is what it is.

That feeling when you think you lose a tournament, then learn there's a loser's bracket, do well in it, and then get your hope completely shut down. I'm not even happy with how I lost. Stupid wobbling making click dodge my attacks.

Even if top four isn't bad... the FIRST position is the only one WORTHY of the MIGHTY NARYAR !

Nevertheless, when I built that bot I had a feeling the slow weapon speed would be a problem. But I didn't took into account that hovercrafts are slow paced, so I thought "outweaponing everyone" was the best tactic when it wasn't.

No definite feeling about who's gonna win now that I'm out (apart from Jack Daniels which is definitely not gonna win), so I'm not gonna root for anyone.
