First off, I have put Good Guys vs Bad Guys on hold as I have realised it is a bit too subjective. But don't worry! It may come back.
Now.
Home and Away
- DSL SHW
- Realistic Rule On
- Multibots NOT allowed
- No BFE/AAM
- No Cheatbot2 components
- One Havok restart per match, if the bot havoks again the opponent gets a win by 3-0 (See Below).
- 16 bots with an additional 2 added spaces for Urjak & MikeNCR
- Arena for preliminary stages is the Keznorg IGC
- Narmour be gone enabled.
Preliminary (REPLACES RUMBLES):
Now here's the plan: 16 bots shall be split into 4 4 bot mini leagues, fighting in the Keznorg IGC to determine who joins Urjak and MikeNCR (Pot Luck winners who have a automatic pass) in a 10 bot league with home and away arenas. The top 2 bots from each mini league shall advance to the main league. After the top 8 bots are found, they shall be asked to choose 4 arenas in order of prioirty, this will determine their home arena.
League:
The matches for the league shall be 3 round matches for 3 minutes each. "Home" and "Away" skins shall be allowed.
Scoring shall work like so:
4 points for a 3-0 win
3 points for a 2-1 win
1 point for a 1-2 loss
0 points for a 0-3 loss
The bot with the most points at the end shall be the winner! Ties shall be determined by whoever got the more Wins by KO's throughout the league. If it is still a tie then there shall be a 3 round fight to the death in the Keznorg IGC.
Any questions? I think I got everything.

All right SHW, this should be fun.
-
I like the sound of this. =D I'm gonna get prototyping tomorrow, hopefully.
-
Well, at least 2 people like it. :P
I think this may be the first tournament i'm hosting that I may enter myself.
-
I like this idea... Its really hard to come up with a decent strategy without knowing which arenas are going to be used.
Couple of concept sketches might result in an entry. Depends on how much time I can muster to work on bots.
-
I didn't even read the rules... I'll enter.
-
I think it works like a football league, each bot has a "home" arena that it fights half its battles in, and it fights the other half of its battles on its opponent's "home" arena, effectively playing "away". I really like this idea, because it'll be quite difficult to make a robot that specialises in one arena if you're going to get absolutely trounced in another one.
-
I think I may alter the rules slightly so people put down their chosen arenas after the rumble stage.
I may also add a "consolation tournament" for the 8 bots who don't make the cut.
-
I suck at SHW.
-
I gotta admit, I'm a bit disappointed that Good Guys vs Bad Guys is on the back burner...but this seems like fun as well. You've got a good mind for this stuff
-
Yeah, Good Guys vs Bad Guys may not be coming back as you know it.
The Ultimate Showdown of Ultimate Destiny, on the other hand...
-
DP: Poll added.
I have put the poll up as I feel that if there was a rumble stage, then it would attract robot types more suited to rumble matches than 1 v 1 matches. I know this limits it to 8 people, but still.
Edit:
I thought there would be a bit more interest, have to admit.
-
TP: Swapped from rumbles to 4 bot mini leagues. I think this one is now ready for the green tick.
-
yay SHW. the one weight class I haven't built anything in for a year.
I'll try to make something.
