Home and Away

- DSL SHW
- Realistic Rule On
- Multibots NOT allowed
- No BFE/AAM
- No Cheatbot2 components
- One Havok restart per match, if the bot havoks again the opponent gets a win by 3-0 (See Below).
- 16 bots with an additional 2 added spaces for Urjak & MikeNCR
- Arena for preliminary stages is the Keznorg IGC
- Narmour be gone enabled.

Home and Away, for the most part, is a 10 bot league with home and away matches. However, there is a preliminary stage in order to decide who joins Urjak and MikeNCR in the league*

Preliminary Stages:

Now here's the plan: 16 bots shall be split into 4 4 bot mini leagues, fighting in the Keznorg IGC to determine who joins Urjak and MikeNCR in the league. The top 2 bots from each mini league shall advance to the main league. Every entrant shall be asked to choose 4 arenas in order of priority, this will determine their home arena if they get into the league (See below). If, for whatever reason, either Urjak or MikeNCR pull out then there shall be a series of rumbles between the 3rd place robots in each pool to fill the spot. Each match in the preliminary stage is 3 rounds.

Choosing Arenas:

-Entrants must choose 4 arenas in order of priority. Stating whether hazards are on or off, if it is not specified then I shall presume the hazards are on.
-Arenas chosen should not give bias to any starting positions. Home robots will always start in the player 1 slot, the away robot in the player 2 slot.
-I reserve the right to ask entrants to change their choice of arena if I deem the arena unsatisfactory. (For example, small arena with hazards on)
-Arenas chosen should be able to fit SHW robots comfortably. To test this I shall run a battle between SHW Holy Cow and SHW Death Star 3 from 123ai. If they don't fit then you shall be asked to choose another arena.
-Custom arenas are allowed, as long as they adhere to the rules above.
-No seizure arena
-If there is any conflict (2 or more people wanting the same arena on the same priority) A series of one round matches shall be run to determine who gets the arena.
-All arena choices must be pm'd to me along with your entry. Do not post arena choices publicly I want to keep them secret.
-The following is a list of arenas which don't fit DS3 and Holy Cow, or just don't meet the rules and shouldn't be chosen.


League:

The matches for the league shall be 3 round matches for 3 minutes each.

Scoring shall work like so:

4 points for a 3-0 win
3 points for a 2-1 win
1 point for a 1-2 loss
0 points for a 0-3 loss

The bot with the most points at the end shall be the winner! Ties shall be determined by whoever got the more Wins by KO's throughout the league. Havok wins count as 3 ko's. If it is still a tie then there shall be a 3 round fight to the death in the Keznorg IGC.

2) Parking Lot (Hazards On)
3) BBEANS Arena v2 (Hazards On)
4) Octagon Arena (Hazards On)

So, I think I got everything.

Entering this tourney takes a bunch of time and research. I'm sure you will get entries with time. I would like to build something for this, but I gotta work today.  Hopefully, I will have time this weekend.

I've never heard of it and i might enter this if i have time considering how busy i am with 2 Legit 2 Quit.

We have our first 2 problem arenas!
The Small Arena-Death Star 3 doesn't fit.
Compressor Arena-DS 3 doesn't move and Holy Cow doesn't fit properly.

Yeah. Don't choose those two arenas.

Personally, I'm having a hard time making a decent SHW.  Logo be damned.

It also takes a bit of brain power to figure out which arenas are worth choosing... I think that might require too much effort from some.

When making SHW's, I just find it easier to beef up existing designs most of the time. Rather than finding a new design that works.
As for arenas? All I can suggest is thinking of your favourite arenas. That's what I did.

Hopefully we'll get some more entrants coming in. It looks like a pretty interesting tournament idea, I'd like to see it moving along soon. =)

So would I, therefore I am imposing a deadline of 21st October.
If I don't have enough entrants to run preliminary stages sufficiently by then, then i'll jump straight to league matches.

I shall skip the preliminary's and go straight to arena choice matches and the league.
