Really hope I don't get drawn against Kurt, those things look terrifying. If my wedge is good enough I may be able to cheaply beat a lot of these just by them deflecting off of it and flying OOTA.

Good question. I am have a bit more spare time than usual tomorrow, so I'll get cracking with this then but, for now, you're getting the two beginning matches in Round 1. Be expecting it soon.

G.K: Not bad, but they're still hazard clones, so eh.

El Chickenado: Well, they look better than previous incarnations, but they're not much else.

Kurt: Re-entries. They still should be entertaining to watch.

Scrapyard24c: Re-entry with a slightly different lightweight for the theme. Next.

Lightning S: Well, the hammer has a servo on it, so it isn't that bad since it's a little more unique.

Squirrel_Monkey: So, we got a slightly ugly HW an a reused LW. Next.

Conraaa: The names are probably the best part about these since the LW is a recycled bot and the HW is nothing spectacular.

Maka: If anyone is familiar with HFT4, then you should know this HW, andd the LW looks like it might flop around.

Mouldy: Seen them. Next.

Noodle: I thought Noodle would've sent in that Drum he had, but we got something weaker in terms of combat and looks. Eh.

TommyProductionsInc: Seen them before, blah blah blah.

Avalanche: I don't even know what to say here. They're bland, but maybe a bit too bland?

Helloface199: Ya know, the re-entries are making my descriptions easier to type since my thoughts about them are predictable at this point, so I guess that's something I can praise them for.

RedAce: I wish I could've made something a little more original, but on the other hand, kid board game and adult board game theme.

Elementos: Re-entries. Next.

DeadGenocide: Uhh, okay.

KingsofKings696: Messy, but they might go far.

Naryar: It looks like they might fly everywhere.

Overall, the entries are hit or miss. Even some re-entires are just there and don't look horrible, in fact, I will praise some like G.K. and Lightning S for some of the better looking ones here. I'm not expecting much from an IRL tourney (not Battlebots) these days because of things like this. But this one is pretty hit or miss, a little more miss though. Ah well, good luck everybody.

Legit don't even know why it's accepted tbh. But then again, the last tournament had so many dodgy bots the standard for IRL was set kinda low XD

There was the astounding victory for Naryar by eliminating the top seed and in style! Loved Conraaa's oota, too. Great comeback from KingofKing's LW, also!

Ah, but, the rule did do it's job because not just spinners can spikeball. As TTTSNB was trying to self-right, he was hitting CAH and would have eventually KO'd him without actually doing any aiming. When spinners spikeball, they're trying to self-right, too. This was the same deal and I think there would have been more of an uproar if TTTSNB got the cheap win while CAH was doing all the work.

lol it's not like it's actually effective as an inertia rammer. it just rams things and gets them out of the arena. it could be a simple wammer and would not be very different

To be honest I quite didn't expected those to win, but then the bracket was honestly filled with poor bots so not a very glorious victory. Still, vanquishing all your opponents is sweet.

I shall give lmy opinion on all bots as well. I did enjoyed this tournament, and credit to Yugi for doing a very quick tournament as well.

As for grudges, It's gotta be against Contra. Would also like to see how I'd fair against Nary. I'm now going to retire the Machete/PenKnife name. If I do make Machete/Penknife 2, these would most probably be complete overhaul rebuilds.

Although I am a stickler for the rules, the rule was mainly made to prevent, as Nary said, spikeballers. Conraaa's HW was not spikeballing (flying around using the spinner, usually whilst dealing damage) as such, more incapacitated with the probability that it would sooner hit a wall and self-right than hit another robot and continue to deal damage.

Round 1:
Lime Loaf and Lemon Bread: DAD STOP WHAT ARE YOU DOING

Round 2:
Jousting Knight and Squire are dangerous
Death Warrent & Pink Slip vs Lightning and Rolling Thunder: Well that was fun wasn't it? The attack of the little robots. Lightning was just gently tapping Death Warrant until it died.
Acid Thunder and Acid Cloud vs Black and Yellow: Beyblades go! I think Acid Cloud could be more of a liability, it can't seem to flip right half the time.
Invincible 2 and Very Much not Invincible vs RTL EVO and RTL EVL Lite: OK The lightweights seem to be more like glorified doorstops in this tournament. RTL is Dangerous.
Machete and Pen KNife vs Welcome To Jackass HW/LW: Still waiting for alightweight to land in the BBEANS bladr box. WTJ HW realised his people needed him.
Betamax Quarter and Betaminus Bis vs I'm Hungry and Hi Hungry I'm Dad: Whoever made the wedged drums is a technical genius and deserved more recognition. Seriously though i'm very happy with how that match went. Slightly worried if I end up against a wedge though.
Cards Against Humanity and Apples to Apples vs Sleek 2 and Sluck 2: Very convincing win from team board games.
The Thing That Should Not Be and The Mistake vs Ghast and Ghost:The HW hammer is the most beautiful havok bomb. Also what was the code spaghetti in the top left? Ghast and Ghost were very unlucky not to win that one.

Round 3:
Jousting Knight and Squire vs Rolling Thunder and Lightning: Teamwork makes the dreamwork.
Acid Thunder and Acid Cloud vs RTL EVO and RTL EVO Lite: No real surprise here. RTL EVO Lite just had to wait for his father to get the belt.
Machete and Pen Knife vs I'm Hungry and Hi Hungry I'm Dad: Proving once again why Britain used to have an empire. Seriously though I was lucky that I had just enough movement while upside down.
Cards Against Humanity and Apples to Apples vs The Thing That sHould Not Be and The Mistake: Ok I completely disagree. It's hard to show controlled movement when you are being manhandled like that.

Semi Finals:
Jousting Knight and Squire vs RTL EVO and RTL EVO Lite: I only just noticed Jousting Knight's srimech.
I'm Hungry and Hi Hungry I'm Dad vs Cards Against Humanity and Apples to Apples: Well that was clinical. Not looking forward to the final though.

Playoff:
RTL and RTL EVO Lite vs Cards Against Humanity and Apples to Apples: The OHKO on Apples to Apples was very satisfying.

Final:

To me a robot using it's weapon while being under the control of another robot does not count as spikeballing. A prime example would be Me VS S_M in Battlebots way back when. He was a drum doing damage to me while I was pushing him around.

An important part of spikeballing to me is if you backed off and left the robot alone, would it continue to be uncontrollable? I would argue in the case of TTTSHB it would regain control very quickly.

I found that quite amusing. It's like the dads were saying "let's get the small fry out of here, it's time for the dads to rumble." Congrats on coming second.

To me a robot using it's weapon while being under the control of another robot does not count as spikeballing. A prime example would be Me VS S_M in Battlebots way back when. He was a drum doing damage to me while I was pushing him around.

An important part of spikeballing to me is if you backed off and left the robot alone, would it continue to be uncontrollable? I would argue in the case of TTTSHB it would regain control very quickly.

Although I'd agree with you on that point, I have to work around certain RA2 limitations. If it were real people controlling these robots, perhaps RedAce would have backed off to prevent his robot from being destroyed in the process. If he didn't, that's his fault but, in this case, it isn't, it's RA2's fault. It could be my fault that I didn't hook up the AI to Omni(ram) but it wasn't reasonably foreseeable, I believe, that his robots would sit under a hammer which would constantly be in a position to hit it in an attempt to self-right. As I saw it, CAH and son won due to the fact that the AI doesn't know how to back off and was unknowingly being destroyed in the process, which is a feature of spikeballing. Also, using reason and fair judgement, I believe CAH and son would have won if both teams were controlled by humans.

GK's : Despite being not very original I like them. They look badass and slick, and that's the main point of IRL. I wish this could have gone farther.

El Chicken : Eh, a frontal flipper placed so high... i'm not sure. Also there appears to be some random stuff placed there for no point. However, it is good to see a flipper that isn't like the others.

Kurt : Boring. As expected, a 4 mag on a LW on an arena with walls that low = you are already dead.

Scrapyard : Another ripoff, but it looks cool. Still not much of a fighter though, even for IRL standards. The LW is average tho.

Lighning S. : One of my favorite bots. It's not only a turret hammer, but it also has spikes and a badass flail tail. The LW is sweet as well. Also that winning against a VS was a pretty awesome moment.

S_M : I guess ? It's a pretty standard nightmare vs. It has a decent color scheme.

Conraa : A non-weapon spam drum which is nice. Those nonprotected external motors, though...

Maka : It looks cool. Still weak, however.

Mouldy : A flipper panel as a wedge ? Seriously ? Yeah, it's weak. Also this heavy plow at the back.

Noodle: Another hazard clone. No effort on the skin = 2/10. I however like the use of multiple wheels, i think it makes the bot more interesting.

TommyProductions : Weapon spam hs. Another one trying to win irl at all costs. Seriously, yugi banned beater walls but doesn't mind 60kg of weapons on an IRL LW ?

Avalanche : A manly bot from Avalanche ! It's too bad it lost so early, I would have liked to see that ram stuff OOTA.

helloface : Tryhard gutripper that isn't even IRL (no weapon supports, no motor protection). How did this go into an irl tournament ?

RedAce : Another non-weapon spam drum. I guess it is OK, although I fail to see a resemblance between names for father and son.

Elementos : Weak. Also there's this issue of exposed bsg... It's not especially interesting either.

KingofKings : I guess it works. The LW is shoddily built however.

Since the father was an adult, it plays a game made for his age, and since the son was a kid, he would play a game made for his age. I just went with that theme to see if I can get a laugh out of if or two. And I agree. I wish I could've made a better design instead of the cop-out IRL drum design.

Also I do agree my drumbots were kinda messy but what can you do in 15 minutes of trying to throw a couple bots together. Also I cant believe my son won that round for me after I got my hw counted out due to being stuck on the other son.
