The main gimmick of this is that there will two bots per entrant, one MW and one LW. It'll be a tag team tournament where they will fight as like a hero and sidekick if you will. You can make any kind of duo from your own creativity or from one that represents something in a pair of two.

RULES:
- DSL-S MW and LW
- 16 Entrants
- 2 Bots per entrant (1 MW and 1 LW) is required to enter
- I'm willing to AI if you are not able to, but don't complain what I AI'd your bot (You can't change the AI after the signups close. If you want to AI, make sure you're happy with it.)
- You cannot enter unless your bots are received and accepted
- I will only accept entries via PM
- You cannot try to find any loopholes in the rules

BUILDING RULES:
- DSL-S MW (249.1 399.0) and LW (175.1-249.0) Only
- You cannot use BFE, AAM, Hax, txt file editing, etc.
- No cheatbot2 parts or custom components at all.
- Bots must have at least two wheels and show controlled movement
- Crawlers and Multibots are banned.
- Jokebots, replicas, IRL style bots are not allowed.
- You can update your bot as much as you please until signups end

BATTLE RULES:
- 2 vs 2 match format
- 3 minute length matches
- Double Elimination Bracket
- DSL Tournament Arena, hazards on (Reskinned)
- If one robot havoks once, costing the match that bot gets a free restart, If it happens again, that bot will be disqualified (Same rules apply If one bot loses for a dumb reason, like getting stuck or sitting in one place)
- Judging will determined by the damage points at the end of the match

Voting for Ants. It's been too long time since we've had Antweight Tournament.

Would vote for ants but you ruined it with IRL, so going with duos.

Voted for DSL-S CW. The underappreciated weightclass.

Regarding Dynamic Duos.

- You cannot enter unless your bots are received and accepted
- I will only accept entries via PM
- You cannot try to find any loopholes in the rules

BUILDING RULES:
- Cruiserweight bots (399.1 - 600.0 kg) and Heavyweight bots (600.1 - 800.0 kg)
- You cannot use BFE, AAM, Hax, txt file editing, etc.
- No cheatbot2 parts or custom components at all.
- Bots must have two wheels and show controlled movement
- Each robot must be the same type. (For example, You can't have a Hammer CW and a Hammer/Rammer hybrid HW for your duo)
- Crawlers and Multibots are banned.
- Jokebots, replicas, IRL style bots are not allowed.
- You can update your bot as much as you please until signups end
1)But that's part of the fun! Your rules should be airtight anyway.
2) I'm not sure if you meant "At least 2 wheels here", but when you get into CW+ where robots can actually have more than 2 wheels without sacrificing somewhere else then this seems like it's hurting the HW's a bit.

You do know RedAce has already run 2 Beetleweight tournaments this year right?
I prefer the Duos idea but I don't know if I'd enter having not built DSL-S in a while, so I'm not gonna vote.
Title: Re: Vote: Dynamic Duos or Ant Annihlators
Post by: Naryar on September 04, 2014, 05:27:39 AM
About Dynamic Duos, I think it would be more interesting if you lax a bit the rule about similar bot types so we CAN actually enter a rammer and a rammer/hammer (and we can enter 2 rammers), but not a pure hammer and a pure rammer.

So the duo must at least share a bot type.

So if we actually choose to build hybrids (and i probably will) we're not obliged to build the same exact hybrid in the other weightclass.

Okay, I thought it through for a bit and decided not to limit your choices on building and gave you the option to build either the same bot type or different bot type for Dynamic Duos. If you actually don't me doing this, then I'll switch it back.

Okay, I don't know if I should do this, but I was thinking of changing the weightclasses since I feel that's driving you guys away. Should I change it to MW and LW weightclasses duo or should I keep the HW & CW weightclasses or should I do something that I haven't mentioned.

Edit: New poll is now up.

Yeah, I can understand procrastination is an issue. Ladies and gentlemen, I have decided to remove the deadline from this, for now. Sooner or later there may be a moment where the deadline will suddenly pop up, but that's a secret, so watch out. This also means I'm gonna have to cancel a certain tournament as well that I have in my mind because of my other plans. Hopefully I'll actually have time for it.

Title: Re: Dynamic Duos - Signups
Post by: RedAce on October 11, 2014, 03:47:58 PM
Alright, I might as well say this now.

I've sent a PM to Craaig about this a few days ago, here's the sad news part though: I haven't gotten a single entry for this that isn't mine and this tournament hasn't really gone anywhere. I don't think enough people care about this and will be about as active as a ghost town. No matter how much I try to bump this, it still doesn't have any interest whatsoever. Unfortunately, this may need to be cancelled because of the lack of interest. I know this makes me look like an irresponsible host for considering this, but I feel I deserve be banned for wasting your time and next time. However, I'm not saying I'm gonna cancel it, yet. If someone is willing to take over this tournament, please PM me and let me know. That would be extremely awesome of you to do that. If not, then I'll just officially cancel this in a few days.

I don't know the exact reason why there isn't much interest in this, but either way, I'm not trying to start any flame wars or argument. If you're gonna bash me, just do it.

I get your point, I didn't really say when I'm closing them, so I guess I'll give you guys a week before I close this.

Maybe you should fill the gaps with DSL teams-like BOT-205 and Devil 2.

I haven't thought about that, maybe I'll do that and have them be bye bots, I'll have to think about it though. Also, I'm going to bump the deadline to the 7th instead of the 8th to take care of this over the weekend.

Also, I got your replacement entry, yet, I'm having trouble determining if I should allow it since the weapon cuts through the chassis.

I guess I'll have you guys decide, it looks like I obviously shoudn't, but I'd like to check to see if you would allow it. In case it doesn't, I'll just use your first entry instead of the replacement.

If you can make a hole in the chassis IRL to let it pass through, it should be fine.

Alright, I'm just gonna make the final decision to not allow that replacement entry since it cuts through the chassis and a bunch of extenders. Sorry Yeastisbeast, but at least your first entry is still acceptable for me to use.

OK, sorry, I didn't know that it couldn't do that. It was a bit of a hasty build anyway, cos' it was originally a beetleweight.

Quick reminder that you guys don't have much time left to enter.
