I just dont see why people care so about Crawlers, Flails, Controlled Movement, etc

its not anything im taking personally over my entry (if you dont like it just remove it because I dont want to be on the receiving end of abuse if it wins)

I just think its stupid to see like the 5th tournament in a row degrade into another debate about something being cheap or ghey?

Now, I'm with you in that you should be able to use that bot (This is a pretty much fun tourney)

But controlled movement is pretty much a foundation of robotic combat, isn't it? We don't see spinners like that on TV or events, because they're impractical and a safety hazard.

sorry to anyone and everyone if I came across a little angry, its been a frustrating day IRL

its not normally like me to drag other problems in things (I do think people still need to lighten up a bit of particular things in this game though)

now that I have had a bit more time to relax... here is a (very crude :P) plan of how my robot was AI'd (to the best of my ability lol)

the robot is trying to track the green box :P

it will spin slower in the first 3 phases but once the chassis is facing the target the robot will accelerate hard shuffling it towards the opponent, it will then continue the same patten from phase 2

neither are correct :P I did originally write a new .py but the end product was completed with some very cleaver binding work with omni .py :-D

I think lack of a good explanation was the issue here, the controlled movement is still far form perfect, its probably on par with one wheeled spinners though, its only an idea I got while failing at making a one wheeled HS lol

glad we could work out everything and I apologize again, I want to maintain my status of residential nice guy :P

EDIT: my Predictions:
FIGHT 1- either Black Hole's Revenge or Chewcube goes out.
FIGHT 2- CombatAnt.
FIGHT 3- Hammerhead.
FIGHT 4- One Spike Wonder.

On a final note... I would like to point out that Joe plays by the rules every time. He thinks outside the box and people find that a bit threatening. Hell, half of the time I slap my forehead and say "Dammit! Why didn't I think of that!?"

Outside the box thinkers are often feared and will take a decent amount of heat. (Albert Einstein, Steve Jobs, Gandhi, etc etc.)

Ultimately, he plays within the rules of the tournament and we should respect Jonzu's assessment in letting bots compete upon his inspection. (Kudos for standing by your original opinion and letting the bot stay in the tournament)

In the future: if you forsee a possible loophole that might be exploited in a tournament... suggest a rule before the entries are accepted. If this AW tourney also had a rule that required at least 2wd for every bot, we would not be having this discussion. Also, maybe the BBEANS rules need to be refined some? like an actual test that can be run to determine the mobility capabilities of an entry? (If bot1 can reach block on other side of arena before x amount of time? or something like that)

Anyways Badnik's predictions are pretty much the opposite of mine, but WAIT THESE ARE RUMBLES ?!?!?!?

Round 2: Triceratops wins, unless CF drives well, in that case it's Joe's victory

my predictions for the next battles

Battle 2: Starcore, with a 1 min match I may be in a shot with points though...I still think its Starcore's Match

Battle 3: close one between 090901 and Craaig but Im going with my Team Mate on this one :-D

Battle 4: I think Virus Bomb with have this one, I like Hypno-Ant though is it AI'd with FBS or Whipper ?
