Omni works fine with that combination. Just be sure to name the controls for the spinner (Spin) and axe (Fire). You may also want to add a smartzone named weapon for the axe.

Edit: As for the starting height: You need to move the SZ closer to the chassis (otherwise, ignores its location at startup). Otherwise, moving the starting zones up would have the same basic effect.

In theory, other weight classes show that multibots lose to well built single bots. So I should enter a single bot...

Maybe, but 5000 kg is a

of a lot of weight to eat up, and if you enter, for example a 2500kg Beta flipper can easily toss 5000kg into the air.

Multibots are much easier to build efficiently than a 5000kg machine, in my view. But I still went for the one bot.
