I'm perfectly fine with the melty brain, it's the one wheel I don't get. Melty brain works by speeding up and slowing down the drive motors, but if there's only one wheel, surely the bot'll just spin round and round in erratically slowing circles.
I think SM is a pretty cool guy, eh builds unicycle-bots and doesn't afraid of anything
They don't have spinning weapons on them, though, everything's static. If you gave a 1WD Melty Brain robot an enormous spinning bar to use, it would have no control whatsoever. I don't think a 1WD Melty Brain Spinner of any type would be an effective or controllable machine IRL. Let's just wait for Joe to post up some more videos, I can't be bothered arguing at the minute.
DSL is realistic as it "can it be built" not "would it work if it was built". I'm still annoyed about the chassis height thing.

I'm still annoyed about the chassis height thing. What part of the DSL realistic rule does the "idea of grinding down the top of the chassis to allow the disk to go by" break? There were no components in there and moving objects are allowed to move through static ones, so long as a hole can be cut. And a rather large hole could indeed be cut in the chassis.
The bit where if it was grinded down, another bit of the bot would not be attachable. And if it still was you are simply adding an unrealistic bit to a chassis for more HP which is unsporting..

You didn't and I accept that. It's just bending the rules to a level I myself am not comfortable with. That's why I'm a bit annoyed but since JB accepted it, it's fine.

Believe me I am also annoyed by it, especially when I built a better version without that problem.
You got my vote for RA2 Wizard. Always and forever.
