CUBINATOR IS FIRST ?? What the heck ?? Nothing against Ian, but it's far from being the fastest bot here...

Oh well. I'm second so it's fine.

Predictions:

Cube Tank VS SnSnSnS: See NOS-BOT VS Haymaker. Probably a long match but packed with destruction, though Somebody probably won't KO Hydro's bot.

CNADNAC VS BBB: Yawn fest. As far from my experience goes, sit and spinners like that aren't very good against shell spinners, especially with weapons with normals. My fav to win is Urjak, but i'm not sure. We'll see.

Bushido's Beyatch VS AGTFOS: Another yawner. Phil's bot is probably better. And weapons with normals are not as good than other weapons in DSL, because all of them are balanced in DSL.

Gray Matter VS LANBFM: Most of the time VS dominate rammers, but Gray Matter might break one of it's rammers on Man Manu's spikes, and Mako clones don't like fast hinged wedges. My favorite to win is Pwnator, but we'll see...

EDIT: I have reasons to believe that you won't win that tourney SB.

@ Naryar: storm 2 was referred as a full body rammer/ hammer because it didnt just ram opponents it sent them backward with a good amount of force which is why I put that as your weapon rather then 6 razor blades (or what ever there called) I can remake the stat screen for you if you want something different for weapon

no plans for a loser bracket but there may be a losers rumble out of the 4 eliminated first round to go along side the Encore rumble (the one with CFTW and Little Cube) that way each bot will get at least 2 matches and will fill up the tournament a bit more since there is only 12 bots rather then the normal 16

phew sorry about the novel I just wrote but I hope that answers everyones questions

that was the type of bot, but if you looked at its weapon for series 7 (heats) and extreme 2 (new blood finals) it was full body hammer

That is the weird Robot Wars classification and it makes no sense to me. For me, hammer = active burst motor, piston-powered weapon = poker and a full body thing is a either a drum (Barberous), either a FBS (Y-Pout, Why-Not)

Mine has just static spikes and drive for weapon, and a wedge, so is a wedged rammer, but with pusher tactics.

And yes please, you could remake that stat screen, but it if takes a lot of time don't bother... just put 14 spike strips.

ok does anyone else have a stat screen issue (only if its a fairly descent issue) and I will remake it, I would prefer to do only the two I have to do know but if something is unsettling someone let me know (urjak don't worry about your bots picture I'm working on an updated one now)

Well, SnSnSnS and R1885's popup, while being good bots, have weaknesses... glaring ones IMO. I'll say fragile structure / low armor for SnSnSnS and fragile weapons for the popup.

changes are going to be as of round 2 as some round 1 videos are getting real close to the uploading stage (fast huh?)

Edit: for R1885 is was going to put the fact it had a sremech which tipped it over to one side which could have troubles if against a wall that side but it was to big to fit so I left it as unknown, somebody's bot I did think about fragile but It really looks like nothing can get past those tribars

Well SSG your bear claws have low HP's but HIGH damage potential.

Main issue is normals, as all DSL weapons are balanced, the normals make them worse.

Also ungrippy wheels...

Ha! Exactly as i predicted.

SSG VS Urjee was close though... at a moment i really though SSG would won because of more damaging weapons.

I LOL'ed when Cube Tank flew at 1:26. That looked like a havok to me.

it appeared that way but Cube Tank hitting the "camera" was a result of piston deployment right as SnSnSnSnS gave it a good wacking lol defiantly a nomination for "best moment" in this tournament, has anyone noticed the big air time in the opening video when Man Manu hit Ianh05 ? its about 15sec into the video (anyone there all the same)

I was aiming for higest damage potential at the lowest possible weight, because I could not get Irons on there and Razors would have left too much weight. I might have been better off with less HP for the discs and Irons. I aslo sacrificed all chassis armor into the hads of the discs by putting on 1mm plastic, meaning instant kill if someone was to get trough the disc. (happened with Stock DSL AI, WIIDE Load, it got under me and pinned me to the wall and then the match was over in less than a minute)

Also, I dont think the wheels are at all ungrippy. See how well and fast it manuvers around the spikes and saws in the beginning? And those instant stops as it got the countdown or needed to close in? They only loose grip in looooong no hit spins.

Edit: just did some recording for the next round and the losers rumble which had about 3 havoks at once so it got quite messy (Big Bad Brother was stuck on its edge half in the ground lol) so I will have to redo that one

as for the X bracket Im thinking of expanding it to 24 so it will basically play out the same

I did start shooting it but there was about 3 havoks at once so it needed to be restarted but haven't got around to it

Well, happy to be still on the  game with Awful Red thing FOS (From Outer Space).

For the instance, my prediction look more realistic than those of Nostradamus.

few words about some bots:
- Xenophobik seems to deal a lot of damage but did not achieve its goal of breaking those wedge : not a bad show anyway and with a few improvment something very good should be done from this bot.
-SnSnSnS did not deceive its reputation of killer bot, who will stop it ?
- 2 things with ARTFOS vs Smash Dow : First Smash down show off its weakness : lack of weapon, Second, this was the 'perfect' foe for ARTFOS : the more this last bot is shaken the more it deals damage. For this reason i think ARTFOS have a chance to win grey matter ... we 'll see.

Well, a cube is not exactly the best shape for a pop-up. I was hoping at least the large amount of armor would help. Back to the drawing board again I guess.

That defeat is just why i don't like shell spinners. Afterburner 2 is able to defeat Grog, but not one of Urjak's shell spinners... especially with DSL caster armor.

Good ? SnSnSnS will slowly rip Gray Matter to shreds, that is all, and it's gonna be a long match. Although Gray Matter isn't a bad bot and they are equally matched in weapon hitpoints, Somebody wins because it has much more powerful weapons.

I built my bot specifically to beat shell spinners and most SnS. But I've never encountered a bot with this much speed and weapon hitpoints at the same time. Though this fight will be interesting, we already know who the winner is. :P

I just want to say thanks to a lot of people for making this possible

first off to somebody for helping me with the rules starting off, it really got the ball rolling

thanks to hydro and Russian roulette for there generous donations for the prize pool

thanks to all who entered and showed there support for this tournament, I never knew such A simple idea would take off (especially as there is a demand for Clash Cubes 2)

hopefully this tournament has opened a few more peoples eyes and we can manage a 24 bot bracket next time around

remember if you have an idea or brainwave for clash cubes 2 check out the link in my signature

thank you all and although clash cubes 2 is a bit of a wait, I have something in the making that will pop up sooner rather then later.... so watch this space lol

hmm everything is still on the table nothing has been finalized (except perhaps the arena) but possibly as the cubes arnt much good for AI as the weapon can go a little crazy (like all small parts motors) when left running too long, they could be killer drives for SnS's

are you talking about in the rar file ? it just uses the normal axle one, my RA2 chucked a tantrum over a custom one so just had to use standard one just paste the power cube stuff (except for the notpad doc) in the axle file

sorry can you outline your problem ??? you copy the axle folder and power cube.txt into the componants, when it propts you the folder axle exists overwrite? click yes to all and you will have all axles, mini motors, mini bursts, mini servos and the power cube

I just copied in the axle folder to the components folder, and clicked yes when it overwrote the old axle folder. So now I have the txt. in the components and a pic in a folder of the power cube, which is also in the components folder

save rar to a file other then robot arena 2

right click the rar  

click extract here

right click the axle folder and click cut

go into your robot arena 2 file, go to components

right click any blank space and click paste

and your done :-D

yeah they sort of do ... and the you pick the brackets ... you have to try and guess the whole thing...(only to the extent of whos in what bracket you dont have to guess which little box there going to be in)  only because if I set brackets then I would probably end up with a 12 way tie :-D

which got me thinking is the cube concept better as a one off thing? is it better to keep the trademark qualifying and bracket but change the bot rules from cube to something else (not necessarily a chassis shape)

I like the cube idea but you could definetly branch off like have CC2 and then have Clash Cubes Cylinders and etc.

Nice idea, dude. But what if the rules are changed such that the bot should not be an SnS, HS, nor Sheck Spinner. This should challenge the builders a bit.

Clash Cubes 2 as a realistic SHW tournament will most likely run since there has been a fair amount of work into it

Im going to ditch the Clash Cubes TNT idea (think I should lay off the cubes a bit) but will keep the name TNT for a future tourney I planned which TNT will stand for Twist n Turn, all robots must be either a HS VS SnS FBS or Drum. but dont start to get involved its a fair bit off and completely unconfirmed lol

I think that you shouldn't have SnSs in that because they will all be a clone of SnSnSnSnS and the fights will be BORING when it is SnS vs. SnS.

like I said its completely unconfirmed just basically mentioning it so the name doesnt get taken.... but Clash Cubes 2 will go ahead as planned (not now lol but will) and then take it from there depending on demand, as I am seeking 24 people for clash cubes 2 :-D

Edit: were on the subject of spinners and my post count hits 259 lol
