Silver Shark-lazy entering an old bot, but atleast it's a good old bot
Cutting Wedge XOXO-again it seems small but it looks well weaponed and if the wedges are good, it could do well
MEOWCH!-typical strong looking VS
fRICK-looks good but it seems like gutripper/popup food
Skidoosh-looks good
Pathogen V2-looks good but maybe a little underweaponed.

I'm scared of Meowch, I seriously doubt I can last long against it unless I get lucky with the blade. The rest in the group will come down to wedges, most probably. If I ever got past that, I seriously hope I don't get put up against Mondrian or Haywire Fairground, they look evil.
My bot has indeed been showcased in its original form, but this one has better armour and more battery power. I'm using this tourney as a test run for the new version, as I want to continually update this bot.

I'll stand up for him and say that there was no rules saying you couldn't enter an IRL bot, it just nobody does it cuase they get knocked around by the regular bots.

this is still not an excuse for entering an irl bot in a standard tournament

it's wasting spaces and it makes the tournament boring

I was going to enter, I just needed to build something in my free time.

Also, don't get on Deinemutter's case for quality control. If it was only avalanche who'd dunnit then I wouldn't have cared, but 4 other people wasting tournament spots?

I must say though, on the topic of IRL bots, that it's a shame because people would enter Standard bots, but didn't get given the chance. Think about that, guys that entered an IRL bot - you know full well you won't win, you just took someone else's spot when we hardly get any Standard tournaments now.

Also rooting for Silver Shark because it's the coolest and one of the best as well. Though Helloface's bot is nice as well.

When I pulled the names I was quite worried about CW as my bot is a popup's lunch. Still, gonna be an interesting group.

Yeah, I was actually wanting to enter. Would've been nice to get to actually be competitive on a decently level playing field for once.

The discussion topic for the tourney was posted like 5 months ago and signups had been open for 2 weeks before they closed. Seems like plenty of time to make and enter a tourney that you wanted to enter.

Update:

In other news, plans changed and so I decided not to procrastinate and actually start recording. I must have lost track of time however because I found myself several hours later, with all group fights been recorded. I starting typing an update for this thread, and I realised how stupid I sound, narrating my life. (Enough of that).

Just waiting for some judges decisions from Senstro, then I can get round to editing and posting the first 24 bouts. This stage went moderately well, Fraps actually worked for once and the amount of havoks were slim. (I will post these also). I will also post the tables from the groups, and dependent on what Senstro thinks, there may be some shocks ;). Not saying anymore than that, except that the main bracket will be posted at around the same time.

Post by: HurricaneAndrew on January 10, 2014, 12:40:13 PM: Yeah, it was in discussion for a while, but if it was in sign-ups for two weeks, fine. All I know is I have a life outside of GTM to tend to and I can't sit and constantly watch for tournaments.

Either way, that's still beyond the point. We have plenty of IRL tournaments for people to enter without them taking up spots in standard tournaments.

So, Mr. Biohazard and Shrapnel are Eliminated. The Riddler and Off the Rails Progress to the Group 1 winners/Group 2 winners 4 way melee.

fRICK: 9 points
Moandrian: 8 points
Excelsior S: 3 Points

So, Excelsior S and MOANDRIAN of all bots are eliminated. Haywire Fairground and fRICK will go on to fight Off The Rails and The Riddler in the Group1/Group2 winners melee.

Secondly, I've been at it this weekend, and Group 4 is uploading as I type. (Just a little disclaimer, for some reason Cutting Wedge drops my frame rate.) I am now recording the last of 8 battles, will be uploading over the course of next week. :thumbup

EDIT: Group 4 is now up, the table stands at:

Cutting Wedge IV - 16 points
Silver shark - 11 points
Sas2 - 5 points
The Iceman - 3 points

This means Scrat-No. Not today. SAS2 :P and The Iceman :( are eliminated.
