I think it's because you stayed in the Winner's Bracket for so long. lloopp lost quite early on, and had more matches than you did. Which explains the higher score. It's like how Sage has had ten matches so far.
 
I've just noticed, I'm the lowest-scoring competitor who actually won a match. =D

FOTEPX wanted a match against any other bot, so I assigned a number to every bot, generated a random number, and came up with ReActive.     I told you to be careful what you wish for... but seriously, the match is actually close.

Sage was confident during the last BBEANS.

It didn't work out.

If I remember correctly, Sage posted Death of Angels 1, and we all told him that it would never be able to get under shell spinners with its drive.

So he fixed it.

And it lost to a shell spinner.

Which has helped it break many records (and start an infinite paradox of records).

And now is in the final.

Which was Bumble Bee's point.

This will be the second time in a row that a rookie has not won BBEANS

People BAWWWed about all the flail shell spinners.

Not only were there more rammers than FSS.

Rammers were capable of beating the FSS (DAMMIT)

Popups were capable of beating the FSS (as both finalists have done)

And now a popup will win BBEANS for the second time in a row.

3rd time in a row for gutrippers in general.

And 4th time for a robot with some type of attack that needs to get under the other robot.

My thoughts are complete.

Popups are the dominant design in both stock and DSL, I think... a well-built popup can beat any other type of bot, while every other design has some sort of weakness.  A popup will only consistently lose to a bot with a better wedge, or a specialized popup-killer that can't beat anything else besides a popup.


The only reason anyone still builds non-popups is because the game would get boring if it turned into Popup Arena 2.  And probably also because it's harder to build a good popup than a good HS.  We need variety.  If everyone was focused purely on competitive ability and not originality or coolness, I think all the bots would be popups.


The reason why more BBEANS haven't been won by popups was because we haven't really reached the pinnacle of popup design until recently.  Even so, BBEANS1 and 4 both had a popup as the runner-up.


But for some reason people don't BAWWW about popups as much as they do about HS (unless said popups have narmor)... I don't understand it.


Actually popups occupy the real-life niche of wedge bots like Devil's Plunger and Original Sin.  Look at most RFL tournaments; shell spinners like Megabyte will dominate most of the tournament, but they will consistently lose to a good wedge.  The only difference between real life and RA2 is that in RA2, the wedges have weapons.  Which is maybe why people don't BAWWW about them.

The winner of Infection 4 vs. Death of Angels 2 will be the new #1 overall seed in the BBEANS standings.

If Sage wins, he becomes 1st and Pwnator falls back to 4th (behind Sage, MikeNCR, and R0B0SH4RK).

If Pwnator wins, he becomes 1st and Sage falls back to 2nd.
