Title: BBEANS Redux

Decided and planning to rerun the entire BBEANS 1-6 tournaments with their original formatting and everything. If this gets popular enough I may allow fan voting for awards. I will most likely upload around 2-4 battles a day.

how accurate do you want to be? because the first BBEANS was held in the RA2 T2 arena.

yeah i agree with the arena being super important for an "accurate" redux. however, placing the same bots against each other in a different arena actually sounds cool tbh

Ah really? I was thinking that it was, but I decided just to go for the BBEANS areans. I think it makes it a little more entertaining, and the arena isn't to different.

The arena kinda changes everything... I mean, none of the bots will stand to Flaming Whizzer now with a large obstacle in the middle.

IIRC RPL (or was that Wedge Tracker ?) had a pretty close match as the bbeans1 final.

Clickbeetle's first idea for BBEANS was to use the AON 2 arena. I wonder how that might go. Hm...

Ahhh my bot was such sh** in BBEANS 1. If you do BBEANS 2, I'd love to see if Shebeast can make a good run again.

I can do some tournaments. I've spent two afternoons and brushed past the first two events. I can always practice with the arena cameras and rerecord them.

For those who never learned how this works, competitors are ranked first by their score*, then by total number of wins, then by number of KO's, and finally by number of TKO's. Scores are based on number of wins divided by number of losses plus four. Updated after each tournament.

*score = wins/(losses+4)

Since this idea seems to have been abandoned, and since the original videos are gone. Coupled with the fact that I had been planning the same thing (an alternate BBEANS I thought I might as well pick up the torch here.

At this point, feel free to make your own topic. I'd recommend it, especially so you can have control of the OP and have no fear that, for whatever reason beyond your control, Ben Purse removes this thread and all discussion pertaining to your contributions gets lost. Not to mention that I'm sure you would like all traffic and credit for your work to go to a thread of your own, not Purse's.
